November 4, 2012: Fringe Benefits

I helped an obvious high roller yesterday buy a TV and a whole room setup. He was so pleased by the experience with me that he gave me his business card - he's one of the owners of a resort in Puerto Penasco (Rocky Point) in Mexico - and offered to give me and my wife a few free nights there. Legally, I can't take it. In actuality, I have to take it.

Brandon Webb hasn't pitched in the majors since 2009, but that hasn't prevented the #MNTwins from inquiring, I'm told.

      1. until the Twins actually make a trade for a halfway big name (when was the last one...Delmon Young?), I'll put more faith in free agency rumors than trade rumors.

        1. Capps was more than halfway big, I would say. Oh wait, you're talking about ... nevermind.

        1. There was hardly any overlap in actual gameplay. When Liverpool-Newcastle match got over, I flipped to the SKC-HOU match and was right on time for the first half. I missed maybe 5 minutes.

          1. I don't really like Houston, but with SKC employing Roger Espinoza and beating the Sounders in the USOC Final this year, I didn't mind seeing them go down 2-0. To SKC's credit, they didn't pack it in all game.

      1. Or certain parts of the Pac12. USC and Oregon combined for 841 yards Saturday. In the first half.
