ORIENTE 5, ESCOGIDO 2 IN ESCOGIDO (GAME 1)

Game summary:  Oriente scored two in the fifth and two in the sixth to take a 5-0 lead.

Oriente:  Stolmy Pimentel (Boston) struck out five in 3.2 shutout innings, giving up two hits and two walks.  Junior Lake (Cubs) was 3-for-5 with a double, scoring once and driving in two.

Escogido:  Juan Morillo (Philadelphia) struck out two in two shutout innings.  Mauro Gomez (Boston) was 3-for-4 with a run.

ORIENTE 1, ESCOGIDO 0 IN ESCOGIDO (GAME 2)

TwinsMiguel Sano (Oriente) was 0-for-4.  Jhonatan Arias (Oriente) was 0-for-2 with a walk.

Game summary:  Ed Rogers tripled and scored the only run of the game in the first inning.

Oriente:  Omar Javier struck out three in four innings, allowing two hits and no walks.  Derek Hankins gave up a hit and a walk in three innings.

Escogido:  Randy Keisler allowed one run on two hits and a walk in 6.1 innings.  Lisalverto Bonilla (Philadelphia) worked 1.2 scoreless innings.

CIBAO 5, LICEY 4 IN CIBAO

Game summary:  Cibao scored three in the seventh to tie the game at four.  The winning run scored in the ninth on an error.

Licey:  Randall Delgado struck out six in five innings, giving up one run on three hits and a walk.  Leonys Martin was 2-for-5 and scored once.

Cibao:  Kevin Pucetas gave up one run on four hits and two walks in five innings.  Marcell Ozuna was 1-for-3 with a double and a walk and scored once.

ESTE 4, AGUILAS 1 IN ESTE

Game summary:  Eugenio Velez homered in the fourth to put Este up 2-1.  Este scored two more in the seventh to take control.

Aguilas:  Miguel Batista (Mets) allowed two runs on five hits and a walk in six innings.  Juan Carlos Perez was 2-for-3 with a double.

Este:  Velez also walked, scoring twice.  Claudio Vargas worked two shutout innings.
