ESCOGIDO 4, ESTE 1 IN ESTE

Twins:  Jorge Polanco (Escogido) was 1-for-3 with a walk.  Chris Colabello (Este) was 0-for-4.

Escogido:  C. J. Cron (Angels) was 1-for-3 with a walk.  Melky Mesa was 1-for-4 with a run.

Este:  Esteban German was 2-for-4 with a double, scoring once and driving in one.  Jason Rogers (Milwaukee) was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.  Elih Villaneuva (Miami) pitched seven shutout innings, allowing two hits and no walks with four strikeouts.

The game:  RBI singles by German and Joey Terdoslavich put Este ahead 2-0 in the third.  It was 3-0 through seven.  Escogido got its lone run in the eighth on a double play, but Este got the run back in the bottom of the eighth on a Rogers RBI double.  Escogido loaded the bases on walks with two out in the ninth.

LICEY 5, AGUILAS 2 IN LICEY

Twins:  Danny Santana (Aguilas) was 2-for-4 with a run.

Aguilas:  Andy Marte was 1-for-4 with a double and an RBI.

Licey:  Bryan Holaday (Detroit) was 1-for-2 with a three-run homer.  Emilio Bonifacio (Kansas City) was 2-for-3 with a walk and an RBI.  Mitch Atkins (Atlanta) pitched six innings, allowing one run on two hits and two walks with one strikeout.

The game:  Anderson Hernandez homered to put Licey on the board in the second Bonifacio's RBI single made it 2-0 in the fifth.  Holaday hit a two-out three-run homer in the sixth to put Licey ahead 5-0.  Aguilas got two in the seventh on an error and a Marte double.  Aguilas got the tying run up to bat with one out in the ninth.

ORIENTE 3, CIBAO 0 IN CIBAO (10 INNINGS)

Oriente:  Alex Valdez was 1-for-3 with a double and a walk, scoring once.  Michael Martinez was 1-for-4 with a double and three RBIs.  Evan MacLane pitched six innings, giving up two hits and one walk with four strikeouts.

Cibao:  Rudy Owens (Houston) pitched 6.1 scoreless innings, allowing three his and one walk with four strikeouts.

The game:  It was scoreless through nine.  In the tenth, two walks, a bunt, and an intentional walk loaded the bases.  Martinez then delivered a bases-clearing double.  The best scoring chance for Cibao came in the seventh, when they got a man to third base with two out.
