  1. It would be fitting if the Twins won this game, just because it's baseball and strange stuff like that happens.

  2. Just noticed this in the lineup posted above:

    6. Suzuki, K

He's not the katcher today, so I assume he's either kicking off or this is a comment on the likely results of his at-bats.

  3. Just wondering what the mlb record is for most SS's and C's in a starting lineup.

    1. I see 4 SS's, 3 Catchers, 2 DH's, and nary an OFer in today's starting nine

        1. This is truly the type of roster decision making that makes me take a hard look at why I follow this org.

          1. Look on the bright side. Any prolonged thought about this club should make you want to drink more.

  4. So, Guerrier is there, but we have no word on who came off the forty-man roster. I wonder if he's actually eligible to play.

  5. Given the defense, this would be a good day to have a strikeout pitcher going.

  6. Well, there goes Pinto's chance at catching ever again.

Edit: I think. Gameday has taken a break.

    1. An horse outfielder! an horse outfielder! my kingdom for an horseoutfielder!

          1. He'd be our best defensive outfielder right now. Plus, you know, bears are cool.

              1. Even Tyner and Revere could have hit a few homers if they batted from 2nd Base.

  7. 4.1 IP for Correia. 8H, 4 ER, 4 BB, 5 K, 2 HR. That's not going to help his FIP. Plus, 2 guys on, so maybe more runs.

  8. I heard on the radio that Escobar was playing CF and was worried it was because Fuld got hurt.
    The reality is almost worse.

  9. Atteberry was going on about how Correia needed to step up since the lineup was so depleted, but I still have to wonder how a pitcher can win a ballgame when his team scores no runs.

  10. What was your favorite Brooks Raley moment? Claimed off waivers to make room for Matty G. on the 40-man.

      1. Former Cubs starter. Left-handed, but hasn't struck out many in the minors and walks a few too many. Maybe serviceable in the majors.

    1. When he came out of the bullpen to start for Rochester and struck out five in three shutout innings the other day.

  11. Stepped away for a minute, came back to see that we are, I think officially, in the punchless portion of the summer.

  12. So close to a Double BOSO, but neither.
Tonkin was called in after Correia blew his own OSO, Thielbar stranded his BOSO on third base.

  13. Journeyman Scott Atchison,
38 years old (older than me),
217 MLB games (1 start) for 5 clubs
    117 NPB games (12 starts)
311 MiLB games (97 Starts) Some of those minor-league starts look like rehab stint starts: Last year, 2 Rookie-league starts, 2IP total.

  14. Well, so much for those good times from the first half of this inning....
