    1. He is at 455. If he plays for a couple more years, he probably could reach the 500 double plateau.

      1. 97.
Omar Vizquel is next at 456.
Reggie Jackson is 90 with 463
Carlos Lee is 83 with 469.

  1. Walks will haunt

    Phil Miller ‏@MillerStrib
Willingham now has 20 walks in just 25 games; his 19.4% walk rate easily a career high. His .455 OBP would also lead AL if he qualified.

  2. Listening to Cory and Dazzle talk about Danny Santana, I happened to remember the time the Orioles wanted to bring up Manny Alexander to play short and move Cal Ripken to third base. Ripken spent weeks whining about how it was so unfair to him to be asked to learn a new position during the season. Now here's Santana, asked to learn a new position the first time he comes to the majors, and not only does he do it, he hits .350 in his first month in the big leagues.

    1. Deduno is bad enough as it is, he doesn't need bad luck to go along with it.

      1. Deduno is like Bad Liriano (as opposed to Good Liriano) reincarnated. Can't hack it after a small challenge, yet the Twins love him & keep running him out there. I believe my "Liriano Rule" applies:
If they get a base runner, consider pulling him. If they score a single run, for the love of all that is good, PULL HIM NOW! #disasterensues

        1. I had my one and only trip to Target Field last Sunday and unfortunately had Deduno pitching. It was a bad game all around; we left after the first grand slam.

  3. Honestly, the ump should've gotten that homerun right at the time. They are leaning on replay too much.

  4. Deduno's not good, but his inability to ever have a quick inning is the most frustrating thing about watching him pitch.

  5. Is that the last we see of Dedudo? That's two really terrible starts in a row.

    1. It's also three bad ones out of four, and the fourth wasn't all that good (5 innings, 2 runs on 6 hits and 4 walks). The Red Wings have three starters with ERAs under three and two more with ERAs under four. I'll be sad to see Deduno go, because he's a lot of fun to watch when he's on, but it's time to give Wings a chance.

  6. I think it's time to pull out A Dance with Dragons. I'll keep the game on in the background, just in case anything exciting happens.

  7. Do you listen to Twins games on KTwin? If so, consider joining me in writing to Twins President Dave St. Peter, if you have encountered the same frustration I have. The radio station has broadcast music or silence over the Twins game at least 3 times in the last two weeks, on one occasion alone for 10 minutes. This has periodically been an issue since Spring Training. If you have listened while this happened, please write to express your frustration, in hopes that the Twins will award future contracts to a radio station that will broadcast competently. Thank you!

    1. Considering the Pohlads own KTWIN, I dont think they are going to move. (I call it Victory Sports One Radio)
But you should let them know they've been messing up.

      1. I think it's a brother or kid of the Pohlad's that own it. I've let Ktwin know several times since the beginning of last season when they've screwed up, although mostly over Twitter. Monday, someone in the Ktwin office will be listening to a voicemail I'm not entirely proud of.

It's time for a formal, polite, but direct letter to the Twins. I'd think that, at some point,

        1. I think the general ineptitude of the KTwin personalities and staff is what is frustrating. I have several examples, but here's my favorite:

Last year, they had an awful afternoon pre-game show with Ryder, Lindsey, Coomer. It was supposed to be a Twins baseball show. Fortunately, Coomer's move to the Cubs gave them an excuse to discontinue it this year. I think Coomer is inane, but at least he occasionally could add something from the perspective of a former player. I will never forget his incredulity when Ryder once commented on the degree of error that should be given to a particularly bad play that had happened a previous day, asking if it should be given an E-5. Ryder, supposedly on the show as baseball-savvy DJ, thought the number in an error designation was the degree of "badness" of the error, much like an F5 tornado is the most destructive. Coomer was literally speechless for a couple of beats.

I have a feeling, Ryder never actually understood "Twingo".

  8. I have to leave soon. I'll either be really upset because I missed a tremendous comeback or glad I didn't stick around for the end of it.

  9. It looks like FOX is done with this game too. It's turned into an afternoon interview show.

  10. I have the game on in the background. 3 times so far I've heard excited yelling from the PBP guy, turned around, and seen Twins ineffectively slamming into outfield walls.

  11. Came in from mowing the lawn, saw the score and decided to watch the CWS instead.

  12. Welp, its the yearly "Trevor Plouffe gets injured and derails his season" news.

    Jason Beck ‏@beckjason
Left oblique strain for Trevor Plouffe.

  13. I gave up on this game over an hour ago. Imagine my surprise and glee when I fire up the computer and see it's still dragging on.

  14. A moral victory, maybe? It was pretty good to score 8 more runs after it looked totally lost.

  15. Brian Dozier passes Dan Gladden on the all time Twins HR list.
Now tied with Cristian Guzman and Leo Cardenas with 39.
