Minor Details: Games of April 24

The Lookouts win in the ninth.  The Miracle loses in the seventeenth.  Two postponements, both of which were made up the next day.

SYRACUSE AT ROCHESTER

Postponed:  inclement weather.

CHATTANOOGA 3, MISSISSIPPI 2 IN MISSISSIPPI

Batting stars:  Dalton Hicks was 3-for-5 with two doubles and a run.  Miguel Sano  was 1-for-4 with a home run, his third.  Max Kepler was 2-for-5 with an RBI.

Pitching stars:  D. J. Baxendale pitched 6.2 innings, giving up two runs on seven hits and a walk with four strikeouts.  Nick Burdi pitched 1.1 scoreless innings, giving up only a walk.  Zack Jones pitched a perfect inning.

Opposition stars:  Steve Rodriguez was 1-for-3 with a double and a walk, scoring once and driving in one.  Ryan Weber struck out five in four shutout innings, allowing three hits and no walks.

The game:  Sano hit a two-run homer in the sixth to give the Lookouts a 2-0 lead.  In the seventh, Rodriguez doubled in a run and scored on Matt Lipka's triple to tie it 2-2.  In the ninth, Stuart Turner walked, went to second on a Jorge Polanco single, and scored on Kepler's single to make it 3-2 Lookouts.  The Braves went down in order in the ninth.

Of note:  Jorge Polanco was 2-for-5.  Adam Brett Walker II was 1-for-4.

ST. LUCIE 4, FORT MYERS 3 IN ST. LUCIE (17 INNINGS)

Batting stars:  Niko Goodrum was 2-for-5 with a home run (his second) and three walks.  Jason Kanzler was 2-for-6 with a double and a walk, scoring twice.  Aderlin Mejia was 3-for-8 with two RBIs.

Pitching stars:  Tim Shibuya struck out six in three shutout innings, giving up one hit.  Brandon Peterson struck out two in two shutout innings, giving up two walks.  Brian Gilbert pitched two shutout innings, giving up a walk with one strikeout.

Opposition stars:  Jhoan Urena was 2-for-7 with a double and two RBIs.  Kyle Regnault pitched four shutout innings, allowing one hit with three strikeouts.  Kelly Secrest pitched three shutout innings, allowing a hit and a walk with two strikeouts.

The game:  The Mets scored two in the fourth to go ahead 3-1.  Goodrum homered in the fifth and Mejia singled in a run in the seventh to tie it 3-3.  There was no more scoring, and very few threats, until the seventeenth.  The Mets got back-to-back one out singles and an intentional walk loaded the bases.  Maikis De La Cruz then hit a foul sacrifice fly to end the game.

Of note:  Mitch Garver was 1-for-8.  Marcus Knecht was 0-for-7.  Alex Swim was 1-for-7.
