  1. Been flipping between baseball and football (watching more of the baseball though) and the difference of the crowd noise is amazing. Maybe FOX has the Mets crowd souped up, by its absolutely electric compared to the football crowd.

  2. I wonder if Harvey starts the ninth. Collins said his night was over but Harvey not having any of it.

    1. Yes. Middle of the order, fourth time through. But, while like Bumgarner in Game 5 last year, he's not coming back.

    1. Either he ties the game or a world series game is decided on a play at the plate.
I like it either way. Royals have two more chances to do this at home if tonight doesn't work out. (Almost) playing with house money right now, can take those kinds of risks.

      1. I agree. They've been playing a game of pressuring their opponents into making mistakes all postseason. This one was crazy, but it makes sense.

  3. I'm off gents. I can't watch these wankers win the WS.
I don't understand psychology ... For some reason, I found myself rooting against the Royals despite my general fondness for the underdog.
KC was so bad for so long, I assumed they would be firmly entrenched in the underdog role in my subconscious. And yet, they've been so good and so opportunistic and their opponents for the past week have so consistently shot themselves in the foot in the biggest spots, that I finally realized I hate the Royals...and I'm okay with that.

    1. Sill the underdog to my mind, but I'm just following along on the computer. Go Royals. We can wish for them to be bad after this without the slightest remorse.

      1. This is about where I am with it. I wanted the Royals to pull it off, but I'll admit that I was pulling for the Mets tonight. Mostly, I just wanted a good series, and I would argue that this was.

    2. I wanted to at least see a good series. I cannot like the Royals either, and I think it's all the media's fault, especially FOX. They want it to be all about the greatness of this Little Engine That Could, instead of talking about the incredible choke job by the Mets. Seriously, if Murphy just fields a routine ground ball, they probably win Game 4 and if Duda makes even a decent throw, the Mets take a 3-2 series lead. And also, suddenly making contact is the greatest skill known to man and hitting a ground ball to the second baseman is "putting pressure on the defense." And they talk about the incredible "base running skill" of Hosmer, who would instead be considered a huge goat if Duda just makes a decent throw and ends a World Series game on a major gamble. Seriously, the Royals need to go party in Vegas right now before this hot streak ends for them. They're on a roll.

      1. I love the idea of Hosmer running in that play for the reasons AMR outlines.

But yeah, the 2015 Royals were born under a lucky star.

  4. I felt that winning the WS this year validated last year's Royals, too. (Rany wrote the same thing, but I felt it before then.)
    So: whooooo!!!!!
