  2. I don't know if Radiohead is even a rock band anymore. But man they rocked early on. If you have 66 minutes, the concert below is awesome.

    Saw their First Ave show on The Bends tour. Again, I don't think it was a full house, and they just killed. Definitely among the best shows I'd ever seen at the time. I was blown away by how every tune started out kind of soft and mellowish, but by song's end the band was just roaring. And the thing is, you couldn't really pinpoint where that happened. They just did it so gradually. Impressive as hell. Yorke was kind of a dick because he kept chiding the audience for not cheering louder. "Don't you realize this is brilliant?" I must say, he had a point.

    Saw them again on the OK Computer tour at the Orpheum. Awesome record, awesome show although it was when I first started disliking Radiohead fans. Teenage Fanclub opened and were the same lovely and charming Glaswegian combo I'd grown to adore. But some a-holes started yelling "get off the stage" or chanting Radiohead between songs. No respect at all. I finally told the kids next to me to "shut the fuck up." (They did.) In his defense, Thom thanked the band two or three times during the Radiohead set. After all, he had the good taste to handpick the Fannies as his opener.

    I bought both Kid A and the other electronic one (name escapes me). And while I didn't dislike the records, they didn't become the staple the previous two had been, and I eventually found other things to take their place.

    I feel similarly as E-6 on Radiohead and Radiohead fans. I lost interest around Kid A time, and never really found my way back. Still, whenever I see them perform, via the interweb, I am amazed by their talent. Just not feeling it any more.
