Minor Details: Games of June 14

Tommy Milone keeps rolling in Rochester.  A home run barrage sinks the Miracle early.  The Kernels lose a rain-shortened game.

ROCHESTER 1, COLUMBUS 0 IN ROCHESTER

Adam Brett Walker II delivered an RBI single with two out in the ninth to give the Red Wings the victory.  Tommy Milone had another outstanding game, striking out eight in seven shutout innings while giving up three hits and one walk.  In 7 AAA starts, he has pitched 48.2 innings and has an ERA of 1.66, a WHIP of 0.92, and has struck out 41 with only 4 walks.  It's hard to believe some major league team wouldn't want to give him a chance.  Logan Schafer was 0-for-4 and is batting .333.  Eddie Rosario was 0-for-3 with a walk and is batting .319.  Jorge Polanco was 0-for-3 with a walk and is batting .307.  Danny Santana started a rehab assignment by going 1-for-3.

TENNESSEE 4, CHATTANOOGA 1 IN TENNESSEE

Zach Granite led off the game with a triple and scored on a sacrifice fly, but it went downhill after that.  Chesny Young's two-run single in the fifth put the Smokies ahead and they stayed there.  Kohl Stewart pitched 6.2 innings, allowing three runs (one earned) on seven hits and a walk with one strikeout.  Engelb Vielma was 2-for-3 with a double and is batting .320.  Leonardo Reginatto was 0-for-1 with a walk and is batting .305.  Granite was 2-for-4 with a triple.

LAKELAND 8, FORT MYERS 3 IN LAKELAND

The Flying Tigers hit three consecutive home runs in a four-run first and led the rest of the way.  Tyler Jay had his first bad game in a month and a half, going only three innings and surrendering six runs on eight hits and two walks with two strikeouts.  Logan Wade was 2-for-4 to lead the offense.

BURLINGTON 3, CEDAR RAPIDS 2 IN CEDAR RAPIDS (7 INNINGS--RAIN)

All the runs were scored in the first two innings.  Each team scored two in the first, Jared Foster had an RBI double in the second, and that was it.  The Kernels had three hits in the first inning and two the rest of the game.  All five hits were singles.  Fernando Romero had his first less-than-good game in Class A, although it wasn't that bad:  five innings, three runs, eight hits, one walk, and four strikeouts.  Luis Arraez was 1-for-3 and is batting .312.  LaMonte Wade did not play.

DSL CUBS2 5, DSL TWINS 3 AT CUBS2

The Cubs2 took a 5-0 lead through three innings.  The Twins tried to get back into it with two in the ninth, cutting the lead to 5-3, but they did not get the tying run up to bat.  Luis Bellorin started but got through only three innings, allowing all five runs on six hits and a walk with one strikeout.  Antonio Tovar was 2-for-3 with a walk and is batting .400.  Juan Martinez was 0-for-4 and is batting .381.
