Game 76: Twins versus White Sox

After destroying the competition during the first six week of the season (including going 6-0 against the Twins), the White Sox have crashed to earth and have struggled to maintain a .500 record.  Boo Hoo.

Tonight begins a 3 game series at The Cell.  Gibby and his 6.05 ERA looking for his first win of the season.

    1. If the Twins didn't have such a stellar rotation, and if they weren't in the middle of a pennant race, maybe they could risk bringing that guy up for the rest of the season to see what he could do.

    2. Berrios finishes with seven shutout innings, one hit, two walks, and six strikeouts.

  1. It's probably just a perception thing, but Gibson seems to give up an awful lot of infield hits.

      1. No, but more than the average pitcher. As I said, it's probably just my perception.

    1. Well, he does have the highest ground ball rate on the team and the lowest K rate, so that would certainly lead to a lot of ground balls, which would probably lead to the most infield hits.

  2. Dozier is 2-for-2 with 2 home runs. The rest of the Twins are 2-for-20 with 7 Ks and 1 BB vs. Quintana. I'm guessing Joe won't be pitched around in his next at-bat with a RISP.

  3. Interestingly enough, I just snagged my first autographed Brian Dozier card between HRs. They're tough to find at a reasonable price since he only has autographed cards in the 2012 Topps Finest set.
