CHATTANOOGA 6, TENNESSEE 2 IN CHATTANOOGA

LaMonte Wade hit a two-run homer in the fifth to give the Lookouts a 3-2 lead.  Brent Rooker hit a two-run double in the seventh to provide some insurance.

Wade was 2-for-3 with a walk and scored twice.  His home run was his fifth and he is batting .300.  Edgar Corcino was 2-for-4 with a home run, his third.  Nick Gordon was 2-for-4 and is batting .350.  Zander Weil was 1-for-3 with a walk and is batting .320.  Omar Bencomo struck out six in six innings, giving up two runs on five hits and no walks.  His ERA is 2.41.  Ryan Eades pitched two shutout innings, giving up two hits and a walk and striking out one.  Williams Ramirez pitched a scoreless inning, giving up a walk and striking out one.

FORT MYERS AT JUPITER

CEDAR RAPIDS 5, QUAD CITIES 1 IN CEDAR RAPIDS

The Kernels scored three in the fourth to take a 3-0 lead and added single runs in the fourth and fifth.  The River Bandits did not score until the ninth.

Jean Carlos Arias was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs.  Alex Kirilloff was 2-for-4 with a double and is batting .303.  Royce Lewis was 1-for-4 and is batting .343.  Brusdar Graterol struck out ten in 5.2 scoreless innings, giving up two hits and a walk.  His ERA is 0.63.  Calvin Faucher pitched 1.1 scoreless innings, giving up a walk.  His ERA remains zero in 6.1 innings.

  1. Graterol was throwing over 100 mph, according to the Kernels' twitter account.

    I've found myself checking schedules and mapping out the drive from here to Cedar Rapids a couple of times recently.

    His plate discipline has improved some in May. In April he had 3:12 BB:K; so far in May it's up to 6:11. I hope they move him up before the All-Star break.

    1. I have no idea what more they think they need to see. And the Rochester second baseman, Taylor Featherston, is batting .152, so it's not like anybody's blocking him. Whatever they think he still needs to work on, he can work on it in AAA.
