Minor Details: Games of June 8

Good performances in losing efforts.  Adalberto Mejia pitched well.  Sean Miller was outstanding.  Jaylin Davis and Luis Arraez were perfect.   Amilcar Cruz leads the DSL Twins to the only organizational win.

DURHAM 2, ROCHESTER 1 IN ROCHESTER

The Red Wings scored one in the fifth, but the Bulls got one in the sixth and one in the seventh.  A Brandon Snyder home run scored the lead run.

Jake Cave was 2-for-4.  Nick Gordon was 0-for-4 and is batting .319.  Willians Astudillo was 1-for-3 with a home run, his sixth.

Adalberto Mejia struck out eight in seven innings, giving up two runs on five hits and a walk.  Luke Bard struck out two in two shutout innings, giving up a hit and a walk.  His ERA is 2.81.

MONTGOMERY 12, CHATTANOOGA 7 IN CHATTANOOGA

The Lookouts led 6-2, but the Biscuits scored seven in the fourth to go into the lead to stay.  Nick Solak hit a three-run homer in the inning.

Sean Miller was 3-for-3 with three doubles and a walk, scoring twice.  LaMonte Wade was 2-for-4 with a double and a walk.  Zander Wiel was 1-for-2 with a double and two RBIs and is batting .306.  He was removed from the game in the fourth inning--one presumes an injury, but I really don't know.

Lewis Thorpe struck out five in 3.1 innings, but allowed nine runs on nine hits and two walks.

DUNEDIN 8, FORT MYERS 6 IN FORT MYERS

The Miracle led 4-2 through six, but a five-run seventh carried the Blue Jays.  The inning featured two walks and an error.  Two of the runs scored on wild pitches.

Jaylin Davis was 4-for-4 with a home run (his fifth), scoring twice and driving in two.  Luis Arraez was 3-for-3 with a triple, a double, and two walks.

Charlie Barnes pitched five innings, giving up three runs on eight hits and two walks and striking out three.  Alex Robinson struck out four in 2.1 scoreless innings, giving up two walks.  His ERA is 2.70.

WISCONSIN 5, CEDAR RAPIDS 2 IN WISCONSIN

K. J. Harrison hit a two-run homer in the fourth to put the TimberRattlers up 3-1.  The Kernels got one back in the fifth but could come no closer.

Jacob Pearson was 2-for-4.  Alex Kirilloff was 0-for-3 with a walk and is batting .326.  Jordan Gore was 1-for-4 and is batting .304.  Robby Rinn was 0-for-4 and is batting .300.

Bryan Sammons struck out eight in seven innings, giving up four runs (three earned) on five hits and a walk.  His ERA is 2.89.

DSL TWINS 5, DSL ROCKIES 3 AT TWINS

The Twins trailed 3-1 after six, but scored one in the seventh and three in the eighth.  Carlos Aguiar singled home the lead run.

Jim Caceras was 2-for-4 with a triple and is batting .350.  Jeferson Morales was 1-for-2 with a double and two walks and is batting .375.  Luis Gomez was 1-for-4 with a double and is batting .350.  Wander Valdez was 1-for-3 with a walk and is batting .333.

Cristian Castro struck out four in four innings, giving up three runs (one earned) on four hits and a walk.  Amilcar Cruz struck out four in four shutout innings, giving up three hits and a walk.  His ERA is 2.00.  Luciano De La Cruz struck out two in a scoreless inning.
