Minor Details: Games of September 4

Andro Cutura dominates and Alex Kirilloff hits a home run to put Fort Myers up 1-0.  Two-run homers by Chris Williams and Jean Carlos Arias lead Elizabethton to a 1-0 lead.

FORT MYERS 3, PALM BEACH 1 IN FORT MYERS (PLAYOFF GAME 1)

Alex Kirilloff homered in the first and the Miracle added two more in the third to take a 3-0 lead.  The Cardinals got one in the fourth but did not get another man past second until the ninth.

Kirilloff was 2-for-4 with a home run.

Andro Cutura struck out nine in seven innings, giving up one run on four hits and two walks.  Ryan Mason pitched two shutout innings, giving up a hit and a walk.

Fort Myers leads the best-of-three series 1-0.

ELIZABETHTON 7, PRINCETON 4 IN PRINCETON (CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES GAME 1)

Chris Williams hit a two-run homer in the first, but the Rays got a two-run homer from Jake Palomaki in a three-run second that put them ahead 3-2.  Jean Carlos Arias hit a two-run homer in the fourth to put the Twins up 4-3 and they led the rest of the way.  It was only 5-4 through seven, but the Twins scored two in the eighth to put the game out of reach.

Yeltsin Encarnacion was 3-for-4.  Williams was 2-for-4 with a home run and a walk, scoring twice.  Alex Robles was 2-for-4 with a double.  Lean Marrero was 2-for-5 with a double.  Yunior Severino was 2-for-5.

Austin Schulfer pitched seven innings, giving up four runs on eight hits and no walks and striking out six.  Jacob Blank struck out five in two shutout innings, giving up two hits.

Elizabethton leads the best-of-three series 1-0.
