  1. We're heading up to mid-Iowa to spend a night at one of my brothers, then up to Detroit Lakes the next day (with a linner stop at zooomy's eatery). I was thinking how I could set up my phone on bluetooth and listen to the day game in the car off MLB as we head through the cities, but then kicked myself after remembering that hey -- it's on the radio there! Duh.

    1. First baseball game under the lights in Detroit Lakes - P.R. against DL 9th grade. Field was beautiful and I owned short stop.

      1. We used to scrimmage against PR in football, but that was as far as we went in that direction; Glyndon & Hawley were as far south as we got.

  2. We left (driving) from SoCal on Saturday, and got to my mom’s on Monday. My wife is flying out for a conference on Monday, and the kids and I will start driving back next Saturday or Sunday.

  3. Didn't go anywhere, so I just got back in from mowing and this is some bull dookie. It was nearly impossible to get my shirt off so I could get in the shower.

      1. And I can't muster the strength to beg for your pity.

On the bright side, I'm going to use this as an excuse not to do anything else today.

  4. OMG, the serious summer humidity has arrived in StL. We've hit 90s a few times, but always lower humidity and a bit of a breeze -- definitely not so today. I can't start driving north soon enough

    1. The last guy I picked went 0-for-5 with three strikeouts. I'm not picking anybody ever again.

  5. July 5th. Rainy day. I knew that meant busy for the joint, but OMG did we get smoked hard for lunch. I have never run a marathon, but after the past 4 hours I think I now know what it is like to run one.

  6. Just got back from a week at Lake Vermilion. We were stupid lucky with the weather - sunny, comfortable and just plain beautiful every day until yesterday when the haze & humidity moved in.

  7. Looking over the current radar projection and it's going to be an iffy kind of night. There could be a rain delay at some point, but there might not. The boys need to be thinking about having and holding a lead after five tonight.

    1. Probably why they called up Stewart but haven't announced him as the starter on Sunday yet in case a long rain delay knocks out Perez tonight or Pineda tomorrow.

  8. Hey, SoCal, how’s the shaking been the last couple of days? We’ve missed all the rocking and rolling, but curious how it would have been had we been at home (in Rancho Cucamonga).
