Minor Details: Games of August 27

Bailey Ober had another brilliant game.  Trey Cabbage hit a big home run.  Luke Raley continues his rehab assignment.

BUFFALO 5, ROCHESTER 3 IN BUFFALO

The Red Wings trailed 5-0 before scoring three times in the ninth.  Zander Weil was 2-for-3 with a two-run homer (his twenty-second) and a walk.  He is batting .258.  Tomas Telis was 2-for-4 and is batting .315.  Kohl Stewart struck out six in five innings, giving up two runs on three hits and three walks.  His ERA is 5.14.  Trevor Hildenberger pitched two shutout innings, giving up one hit.  His ERA is 5.74.  The Red Wings are 66-68, in fourth place, six games back.  Their elimination number is one.

PENSACOLA 3, JACKSON 2 IN PENSACOLA

The Blue Wahoos scored all of their runs in the first inning, but it was enough.  Ryan Jeffers was 2-for-3.  He is batting .292.  Bailey Ober struck out eleven in seven innings, giving up an unearned run on four hits and a walk.  His ERA is 0.43 in three AA starts (twenty-one innings).  Alex Phillips pitched a scoreless inning, giving up a hit and a walk and striking out one.  His ERA is 4.22.  The Blue Wahoos are 36-28, in third place, three games back.  Their elimination number is three.  However, Biloxi remains in first place by two games, and if they win the second half Pensacola will be in the playoffs because they have the second-best overall record in the division.

Reggie Pruitt's RBI double broke a 1-1 tie in the fifth.  Yeltsin Encarnacion was 3-for-3 and is batting .265.  Lachlan Wells pitched five innings, giving up two runs on five hits and two walks and striking out four.  His ERA is 4.09.

FORT MYERS 5, DUNEDIN 2 IN DUNEDIN (GAME 2)

Trey Cabbage hit a three-run homer in the fifth to give the Miracle a 3-1 lead.  Jose Miranda was 3-for-3 with two doubles, a walk, and two runs.  He is batting .253.  Cabbage was 2-for-3 with a three-run homer (his eighth) and a walk.  He is batting .217.  Dakota Chalmers struck out seven in five innings, giving up one run on three hits and three walks.  His ERA is 3.38.  The Miracle is 35-29, in second place, nine games back.  Fort Myers is in the playoffs because they won the first half.

CEDAR RAPIDS 4, PEORIA 3 IN CEDAR RAPIDS

Spencer Steer's RBI single in the ninth brought home the deciding run.  Steer was 2-for-5.  He is batting .265.  Wander Javier was 1-for-3 with a home run (his tenth), a walk, and two runs.  He is batting .183, but is 7-for-19 in his last five games.  Luis Rijo struck out six in six innings, giving up one run on five hits and a walk.  His ERA is 2.86.  Dylan Thomas pitched 1.2 scoreless innings, giving up a hit and a walk and striking out one.  His ERA is 2.40.  The Kernels are 34-30, tied for fourth, seven games back.  Their elimination number is one, but Cedar Rapids is in the playoffs because they finished second in the first half.
