Batting stars:  Isaac Paredes was 3-for-3 with a home run (his fourth), a double, two runs, and four RBIs.  Anthony Giansanti was 1-for-2 with a home run (his fourth), two walks, and two runs.

Pitching stars:  Francisco Rios struck out seven in five innings, giving up one run on two hits and four walks.  Roman Pena struck out three in two shutout innings, giving up one hit.  Igancio Murrujo pitched a perfect inning and struck out one.

Opposition stars:  Amilcar Gomez was 1-for-3 with a home run (his fourth) and a walk.  Hector Soto retired all eight men he faced, striking out one.

The game:  Mazatan scored three in the first, three in the second, and three in the fourth.  Ricardo Valenzuela hit a three-run double in the first inning to get Mazatlan going.

Batting stars:  Gorkys Hernandez was 3-for-4 with a home run (his second) and a double.  Ildemaro Vargas was 2-for-4.

Pitching stars:  Maximo Castillo struck out two in two shutout innings, giving up three hits and a walk.  Leonel Campos retired all four men he faced, striking out one.

Opposition stars:  Yordan Manduley was 3-for-4.  Carlos Perez was 1-for-4 with a grand slam, his second homer.  Ex-Twin Yohan Pino pitched five innings, giving up one run on five hits and no walks and striking out three.

The game:  Perez' grand slam broke a 1-1 tie in the sixth.  Three singles had loaded the bases.  Lara scored single runs in the eighth and ninth to make it 5-3.  They had the tying run up to bat in the eighth and on base in the ninth, but could not bring them in.

WP:  Pino (1-1).  LP:  Ex-Twin Logan Darnell (0-2).  S:  Jorge Rondon (5).

Opposition stars:  Jose Miranda was 3-for-5 with a double.  Jonathan Morales was 2-for-2 with a walk and two runs.  Edwin Diaz was 1-for-3 with a two-run homer (his second) and two runs.  Johneshwy Fargas was 1-for-5 with a three-run homer, his third.

The game:  Diaz' two-run homer in the fifth started the scoring.  It was 4-1 until the ninth, when Fargas hit a three-run homer in a four-run inning that put the game out of reach.

Batting stars:  Ex-Twin Delmon Young was 2-for-3 with three RBIs.  Blake Gailen was 2-for-3 with a double, a walk and two runs.

Pitching star:  Jon Kennedy pitched a scoreless inning, giving up one hit and striking out one.

Opposition stars:  Trent D'Antonio was 3-for-4 with a walk.  Carlos Cortes was 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, and two RBIs.  Michael Campbell was 2-for-3 with two doubles and three runs.  Connor McDonald was 2-for-5 with a home run, a double, and three RBIs.  Ex-Twin Jacob Younis was 2-for-5.  Josh Guyer struck out seven in six innings, giving up two runs on four hits and a walk.

The game:  Sydney scored seven runs in the second inning to take a 9-2 lead.  Sydney had two walks and two hit batsmen in the inning and McDonald had a three-run homer.
