ST. PAUL SAINTS

OMAHA 16, ST. PAUL 9 IN ST. PAUL

The Storm Chasers scored five runs in each of the first two innings.

Batting stars:  David Banuelos was 2-for-5 with a double and two runs.  Byron Buxton was 2-for-2 with two home runs and five RBIs.  Drew Maggi was 2-for-4 with a home run and a walk.  Keon Broxton was 1-for-3 with a two-run homer and a walk.  Brent Rooker was 1-for-4 with a home run (his eighth) and a walk.

Pitching star:  Ian Gibaut struck out two in two shutout innings, giving up one hit.

Starter:  Chandler Shepherd pitched 3.2 innings, allowing eleven runs on fourteen hits and four walks.  That'll raise your ERA.

Friday

OMAHA 6, ST. PAUL 4 IN ST. PAUL

The Storm Chasers scored two in the first and never trailed.

Batting stars:  Roberto Pena was 2-for-4 with a double.  Brent Rooker was 1-for-3 with a home run (his ninth) and a walk.

Pitching star:  Danny Coulombe struck out three in a scoreless inning, giving up a walk.

Starter:  Rob Whalen pitched 4.2 innings, giving up four runs on four hits and no walks and striking out four.

WICHITA WIND SURGE

Thursday

TULSA 12, WICHITA 10 IN TULSA (10 INNINGS)

The Wind Surge led 10-4 going to the bottom of the seventh.

Batting stars:  Caleb Hamilton was 2-for-4 with a home run (his fourth), a walk, two runs, and three RBIs.  Andrew Bechtold was 2-for-4 with a home run (his third), a walk, and two runs.  Roy Morales was 2-for-5.  Ernie De La Trinidad was 1-for-4 with a home run (his third) and two RBIs.  B. J. Boyd was 1-for-5 with a two-run homer.  Jermaine Palacios was 1-for-4 with a two-run homer and two walks.

Pitching starHector Lujan struck out four in 3.1 scoreless innings, giving up a walk.

Starter:  Jordan Balazovic struck out three in two innings, but allowed four runs on four hits and two walks.

Friday

TULSA 5, WICHITA 1 IN TULSA

It was 1-1 through four, but the Drillers scored one in the fifth, two in the sixth, and one in the seventh.

Batting stars:  Andrew Bechtold was 2-for-5 with two doubles.  B. J. Boyd was 2-for-5.

Pitching stars:  Chris Vallimont struck out nine in 4.2 innings, giving up two runs on four hits and two walks.  Alex Phillips struck out two in 1.1 scoreless innings, giving up a walk.

CEDAR RAPIDS KERNELS

CEDAR RAPIDS 10, BELOIT 7  IN BELOIT

The Kernels trailed 7-4 after five but scored two in the sixth, two in the seventh, and two in the ninth.

Batting stars:  Trey Cabbage was 2-for-5 with a home run (his fifth) and four RBIs.  Michael Helman was 2-for-5 with a two-run homer (his sixth) and two runs.  Alex Isola was 1-for-4 with a two-run homer (his third), a walk, and two runs.

Pitching stars:  Ryan Shreve struck out five in 2.1 scoreless innings, giving up two walks.  Melvi Acosta retired all five men he faced, striking out three.

Starter:  Jon Olsen struck out four in 3.1 innings, but allowed four runs on five hits and three walks.

Friday

CEDAR RAPIDS 7, BELOIT 5 IN BELOIT

The Kernels were down 5-1 through six.  They tied it in the eighth and won it in the ninth on homers by Trey Cabbage and Jair Camargo.

Batting starsAlex Isola was 2-for-4 with a three-run homer, his fourth.  Gabe Snyder was 2-for-4 with a triple.  Gabriel Maciel was 2-for-4.  Spencer Steer was 1-for-5 with a home run, his eighth.  Cabbage was 1-for-4 with a home run, his sixth.  Camargo was 1-for-4 with a home run, his fifth.

Pitching stars:  Jonathan Cheshire pitched 1.1 scoreless innings, walking one and striking out one.  Tyler Palm pitched a scoreless inning, giving up a hit and a walk.  Owen Griffith retired all six men he faced, striking out five.

Starter:  Andrew Cabezas struck out seven in 4.2 innings, but allowed five runs (three earned) on four hits and four walks.

FORT MYERS MIGHTY MUSSELS

FORT MYERS 19, JUPITER 3 IN JUPITER

The Mighty Mussels scored five in the first.

Batting stars:  Justin Washington was 4-for-6 with two RBIs.  Aaron Sabato was 3-for-4 with a home run (his third), a double, two walks, four runs, and four RBIs.  Yunior Severino was 3-for-6 with three doubles, three runs, and two RBIs.  Edouard Julien was 3-for-6 with two doubles and three runs.  Jeferson Morales was 2-for-4 with a home run (his fourth), a double, two walks, three runs, and three RBIs.  Ruben Santana was 2-for-6 with two RBIs.

Pitching stars:  Sean Mooney struck out seven in four shutout innings, giving up no hits and one walk.  Juan Pichardo struck out two in two perfect innings.  John Wilson pitched a perfect inning and struck out one.  Erik Manoah, Jr. pitched a perfect inning.

Friday

JUPITER 4, FORT MYERS 1 IN JUPITER

The Hammerheads scored three in the fifth to break a 1-1 tie.

Batting stars:  Jeferson Morales was 1-for-3 with a walk.  Justin Washington was 1-for-3 with a walk.

Pitching star:  Bobby Milacki struck out four in 3.1 innings, giving up an unearned run on two hits and a walk.

Starter:  Miguel Rodriguez struck out eight in 4.2 innings, giving up three runs (one earned) on three hits and three walks.

    I wonder if he is the son of former big leaguer Bob Milacki

    1. It looks like it. Bob Milacki's SABR biography references a son, Robert, who attended Grand Canyon University, which is where Bobby Milacki went, and the time of that looks about right.
