Jimmy Kerrigan and Jose Miranda lead the Saints to an extra-inning win.  B. J. Boyd hits two of seven Wind Surge homers.  Ben Gross strikes out thirteen.  Landon Leach allows three runs on no hits in two innings while hitting five batters.

ST. PAUL 11, INDIANAPOLIS 9 IN INDIANAPOLIS (11 INNINGS)

The Saints trailed 4-1, led 6-4, trailed 7-6, and tied it at seven through nine.  Each team scored two in the tenth.  Jose Miranda hit a two-run homer in the eleventh to win it.

Batting stars:  Jimmy Kerrigan was 3-for-5 with two home runs (his fourteenth and fifteenth) and four RBIs.  Miranda was 2-for-5 with a two-run homer (his tenth), a double, and a walk.  Tomas Telis was 2-for-5 with two RBIs.

Pitching star:  Kyle Barraclough retired all five men he faced, striking out two.

Opposition stars:  Bligh Madris was 3-for-5 with a home run (his seventh), a double, two runs, and three RBIs.  Jared Oliva was 2-for-3 with a home run, two walks, and three RBIs.  Tucupita Marcano was 2-for-5 with a double and a walk.

Starter:  Drew Strotman struck out seven in five innings, but allowed five runs on six hits and two walks.

Good stats:  Miranda is batting .331.  Jovani Moran gave up two runs in 2.1 innings and has an ERA of 2.60.  Ian Hamilton gave up two runs (one earned) in two innings and has an ERA of 2.72.

Bad stats:  David Banuelos was 1-for-3 and is batting .178.  Keon Broxton was 0-for-3 and is batting .195.

Record:  The Saints are 45-40, in third place in the AAA East/Midwest, three games behind Toledo.

WICHITA 10, TULSA 5 IN TULSA

The Wind Surge scored four in the first and built an 8-0 lead before the Drillers scored five in the seventh.

Batting stars:  B. J. Boyd was 2-for-4 with two home runs (his ninth and tenth), a walk, three runs, and four RBIs.  Jermaine Palacios was 2-for-4 with a home run, his seventeenth.  Roy Morales was 2-for-5 with a two-run homer.  Trey Cabbage was 2-for-5 with a home run, his eleventh.  Spencer Steer was 1-for-5 with a home run, his tenth.  Austin Martin was 1-for-3 with a home run and two runs.  That's seven Wichita home runs.

Pitching stars:  Bryan Sammons struck out five in five shutout innings, giving up one hit and one walk.  Alex Phillips pitched 2.1 scoreless innings, giving up a walk.

Opposition star:  Romer Cuadrado was 2-for-4.

Good stats:  Martin is batting .370.  Boyd is batting .305.

Bad stats:  Phillips has an ERA of 6.21.  Sammons has an ERA of 6.55.  Jhonleider Salinas allowed three runs in an inning and has an ERA of 7.36.

CEDAR RAPIDS 5, PEORIA 4 IN PEORIA

The Kernels led 5-2 after five and held on.  The Chiefs closed to 5-4 in the eighth and had men on second and third with two out, but their last four batters were retired.

Batting stars:  Jeferson Morales was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.  Seth Gray was 2-for-5 with a home run, his eighth.  Yunior Severino was 2-for-5 with a double.  Edouard Julien was 1-for-4 with a home run (his eighth) and a walk.

Pitching stars:  Ben Gross struck out thirteen in six innings, giving up two runs on six hits and a walk.  Zach Featherstone struck out three in two shutout innings, giving up one hit.

Opposition stars:  Zade Richardson was 2-for-4 with a triple, a double, and two RBIs.  Jhon Torres was 2-for-5 with two runs.  Emmanuel Solano pitched three shutout innings, giving up one hit and striking out two.

Good stats:  Morales is batting .429.  Severino is batting .388.  Featherstone has an ERA of 2.20.

Bad stats:  Julien is batting .197.

The Marauders led 3-1 after two despite having gotten zero hits.  The scored two in the first on two hit batsmen, a walk, a balk, another walk, and another hit batsman.  They scored one in the second on two hit batsmen, a walk, and a ground out.  That's five hit batsmen in two innings.

Batting star:  Aaron Sabato was 1-for-4 with a home run, his ninth.

Pitching star:  Aaron Rozek struck out five in two shutout innings, giving up one hit.

Opposition stars:  Luis Ortiz struck out eleven in 6.1 innings, giving up one run on three hits and no walks.  Daniel Lopez was 2-for-4 with a triple and a walk.  Endy Rodriguez was 1-for-2 with three walks, two runs, and two RBIs.
