Minor Details: Games of May 1

Chris Vallimont continues to struggle.  A big day for Alex Isola.  Rain was again a big winner.

NASHVILLE AT ST. PAUL

Rained out.

The Saints are 12-10, in fifth place in the International League West, 3.5 games behind Nashville.

WICHITA 4, ARKANSAS 3 IN ARKANSAS

Alex Isola hit a two-run homer in the sixth to put the Wind Surge up 4-3.

Isola was 3-for-4 with a two-run homer, his third.
Cole Sturgeon was 1-for-3 with a home run (his third) and a walk.

Starter Chris Vallimont pitched four innings, giving up three runs on four hits and four walks and striking out four.
Tyler Viza struck out four in three shutout innings, giving up one hit and one walk.
Steven Klimek pitched a scoreless inning, giving up a hit and a walk.
Argenis Angulo pitched a perfect inning, striking out one.

The Wind Surge is 13-8, tied for first place with Tulsa in the Texas League North.

BELOIT 13, CEDAR RAPIDS 6 IN BELOIT

Leading 6-3, the Sky Carp scored three in the seventh and four in the eighth.

Anthony Prato was 2-for-3 with a double and two walks.
Jair Camargo was 2-for-4.
Jeferson Morales was 1-for-5 with a two-run homer.
Aaron Sabato was 1-for-5 with a two-run homer,  his second.

Starter Cade Povich pitched 4.1 innings, allowing six runs on eight hits and two walks.  He struck out six.
Miguel Rodriguez pitched 1.1 scoreless innings, giving up a walk.

The Kernels are 15-6, in first place in the Midwest League West, three games ahead of Peoria and Wisconsin.

CLEARWATER AT FORT MYERS

The game was suspended after ten innings with the score tied 4-4.  Sonny Gray struck out five in three shutout innings, giving up one hit.

The Mighty Mussels are 11-7, in second place in the Florida State League West, a half game behind Bradenton.
