The Saints' bullpen carries them.  Not much good news elsewhere.

ST. PAUL 5, LOUISVILLE 4 IN LOUISVILLE

The Saints scored two in the eighth to go up 4-3 and added a needed insurance run in the ninth.

Tim Beckham was 2-for-4 with a home run, his fifth.
Michael Helman was 2-for-4.

Starter Jordan Balazovic pitched two innings, allowing three runs on six hits and no walks and striking out three.
Wladimir Pinto pitched two perfect innings.
Ronny Henriquez struck out four in four shutout innings, giving up four hits.

The Saints are 40-40, tied for fifth place with Toledo in the International League West, ten games behind Nashville.

AMARILLO 6, WICHITA 3 IN WICHITA

The Sod Poodles scored three in the third to take a 4-0 lead.

Matt Wallner was 2-for-4 with a double and a walk.
Cole Sturgeon was 2-for-5.
Chris Williams was 1-for-3 with a home run (his tenth) and a walk.

Starter Sawyer Gipson-Long pitched four innings, allowing five runs on nine hits and no walks and striking out four.
Melvi Acosta pitched two shutout innings, giving up two hits and a walk.
Denny Bentley pitched two shutout innings, giving up two walks and striking out one.

The Wind Surge is 4-5, tied for second with Northwest Arkansas and Springfield in the Texas League North, two games behind Arkansas.

QUAD CITIES AT CEDAR RAPIDS

Rained out.  Will be made up as part of a doubleheader today.

The Kernels are 3-8, in sixth (last) place in the Midwest League West, a half-game behind fifth-place Peoria, 6.5 games behind South Bend.  The Kernels won the first-half championship.

TAMPA 3, FORT MYERS 2 IN TAMPA (GAME 1--6 INNINGS)

The Tarpons scored three in the fifth in a rain-shortened game.

Keoni Cavaco was 1-for-3 with a two-run homer, his fifth.

Starter Jaylen Nowlin pitched four innings, giving up three runs on three hits and two walks and striking out four.
Anthony Escobar pitched a perfect inning, striking out one.

FORT MYERS AT TAMPA (GAME 2)

Rained out.  Will be made up as part of a doubleheader today.

The Mighty Mussels are 2-7, in sixth (last) place in the Florida State League West, a half-game ahead (because of number of games played) of fifth-place Clearwater, five games behind Tampa.  The Mighty Mussels won the first-half championship.
