This isn't my first Wordleo, you know...
Three days ago things didn't look so good.
The Twins had lost two in a row, their home opener had been pushed back due to weather, and the defending champs were coming to town for a potentially challenging series.
Today there's good news!
Twins pitchers have decided to strike out everyone and not give up hits. The hitters have delivered enough hits with runners on to take the first two games of the series and Tyler Mahle takes the mound today to try and close out a sweep of the Astros.
Mahle will face Hunter Brown.
I won't have time to do all the games, but the Saints played an afternoon doubleheader, so I can at least do those.
CUBS 9, SAINTS 7 IN ST. PAUL (GAME 1--7 INNINGS)

SAINTS 8, CUBS 5 IN ST. PAUL (GAME 2--7 INNINGS)

Edouard Julien was 3-for-4 with a double and two runs. Andrew Bechtold was 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs. Kyle Garlick was 2-for-4.
Starter Randy Dobnak lasted just 1.2 innings, allowing five runs (four earned) on four hits and four walks. He did strike out three. Dereck Rodriguez pitched 4.1 scoreless innings, giving up two hits and three walks and striking out four. Patrick Murphy struck out two in a perfect inning.
We weren't able to make it up for Christmas, so we're celebrating it Easter weekend. It's kind of amusing to combine the two holidays given their meanings.
