  1. Dan Hayes included some bits about the IL players in St. Paul right now.

Chris Paddack touched 98.2 mph while striking out five batters over three scoreless innings at Triple-A St. Paul on Tuesday. Paddack allowed two hits and walked one in the first inning of a 45-pitch effort. In three minor-league outings this month, Paddack has struck out 15 and walked only three in 9 2/3 innings. … In the same game, reliever Brock Stewart touched 98.9 mph and averaged 97.3 mph with his fastball during a 17-pitch effort. Stewart walked one and struck out one in a scoreless inning in his second recent outing at Triple A. Stewart could rejoin the major-league club this weekend. … Nick Gordon singled and doubled in three at-bats for St. Paul. … Reliever Jorge Alcalá’s fastball touched 97.6 mph and averaged 96 during a seven-pitch outing in the same game. … Joey Gallo went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a walk for St. Paul, too.

Stewart will be a nice last-minute addition to the bullpen.
