Minor Details: Games of June 13

Willians Astudillo hits a game-winner as Joe Mauer remains hitless.  An offensive explosion for Chattanooga.  The Miracle loses by giving up four runs in the eighth.   The Kernels get twelve hits but just two runs.  The DSL Twins win on a walk-off error.

ROCHESTER 4, SCRANTON/WILKES-BARRE 3 IN SCRANTON/WILKES-BARRE

Willians Astudillo hit a two-run homer in the ninth to break a 2-2 tie.  The RailRiders scored one in the bottom of the ninth and had the tying run on third with two out.

Astudillo was 2-for-4 with a double in addition to his seventh home run.  Wynston Sawyer was 1-for-4 with a double and is batting .316.  Joe Mauer played first base and went 0-for-4, making him 0-for-10 on his rehab assignment.

Dietrich Enns pitched 6.2 innings, giving up one run on six hits and no walks and striking out five.

CHATTANOOGA 14, BIRMINGHAM 4 IN BIRMINGHAM

The Lookouts scored two in the first, four in the third, and six in the fourth, building a 12-0 lead.

Andy Wilkins was 3-for-4 with two home runs and six RBIs.  He is batting .500 (5-for-10).  Chris Paul was 3-for-4 with a triple and a double, scoring three times and driving in four.  Sean Miller was 3-for-4 with a walk and scored three times.  Edgar Corcino was 2-for-5 with two runs and two RBIs.

Lewis Thorpe struck out nine in 6.1 innings, giving up four runs (two earned) on seven hits and a walk.  Zack Jones struck out two in 1.2 scoreless innings, giving up a walk.  His ERA is 2.49.  Ryan Eades pitched a perfect inning.

PALM BEACH 7, FORT MYERS 6 IN PALM BEACH

Caleb Hamilton hit a two-run homer in the eighth to give the Miracle a 4-3 lead, but the Cardinals came back with four in the bottom of the eighth.  Dylan Carlson hit a three-run triple to bring in the lead runs.  Fort Myers scored two in the ninth and had the tying run on base.

Luis Arraez stayed hot, going 3-for-5 with a triple and a double.  He is 19-for-38 (.500) in his last nine games, raising his average from .205 to .273.  Hamilton was 2-for-4 and the home run was his first.  Joe Cronin was 2-for-5 with a two-run homer, his fifth.  Jaylin Davis was 2-for-5.

Griffin Jax pitched six innings, giving up three runs (two earned) on six hits and two walks.  He struck out five.

KANE COUNTY 6, CEDAR RAPIDS 2 IN KANE COUNTY

Jose Miranda singled home a run in the first, but Jasrado Chisholm hit a two-run homer in the third and the Cougars led the rest of the way.

Miranda was 3-for-4 with a double.  Andrew Bechtold was 2-for-4 with a double.  Jordan Gore was 2-for-4 and is batting .300.  Jean Carlos Arias was 2-for-5.

Brusdar Graterol pitched four innings, giving up three runs on five hits and no walks.  He struck out two and has an ERA of 2.48.  Jovani Moran struck out six in three shutout innings, giving up two walks.  His ERA is 2.60.

DSL TWINS 8, DSL PHILLIES RED 7 AT TWINS

The Twins trailed 1-0, led 2-1, trailed 3-2, led 4-3, and trailed 7-4.  It was 7-5 going to the bottom of the ninth.  Ruben Santana and Luis Milla singled in runs to tie it and the winning run scored on a two-out error.

Santana was 3-for-5 with a triple and three RBIs.  He is batting .346.  Luis Baez was 2-for-4 with a walk.  Victor Heredia was 2-for-5 with a double and is batting .406.  Milla was 2-for-5 and is batting .300.  Jim Caceres was 2-for-5 and is batting .300.  Jeferson Morales was 1-for-3 with two walks and is batting .417.  Wilfri Castro was 1-for-4 and is batting .368.  Brahiap Carrillo was 0-for-4 and is batting .313.  Luis Gomez was 0-for-3 with a walk and is batting 303.

Cristian Castro pitched four innings, giving up three runs on five hits and two walks and striking out one.  Yolby Guzman struck out two in two shutout innings, giving up a walk.
