Neil Young – Born in the USA!

Welcome to Freealonzo's rock week. I just had to kick it off with this version of Born in the USA by Neil Young. This is from 2013 and it's at a Grammy muckity-muck event full of rich white folks. Neil just absolutely captures the anger that is the backbone of this song and it one point the camera pans to Bruce who definitely is slightly uncomfortable at someone performing the song the way it was supposed be performed. My favorite part may be near the end when Neil poinst to the crowd and sings your were born in the USA.

The crown scenes are amazing to and I have no idea what the "signing" cheerleaders are all about. Stick around more fun stuff all week long.

2022 Game Log 134 and 135 – Twins at Yankees

Make Up for Tuesday's rainout!!!

Game two and three of a four game series at Yankee Stadium and the Twins just got a new scouting report in time for today's game: Don't groove a fastball right down the middle to Aaron Judge. Hopefully this gets disseminated to the pitching staff by 1:00 central.

First game includes new Twins pitcher Louie Varland. He's from Minnesota! Yay. Good luck on making your MLB debut at Yankees Stadium. Will definitely be something to tell the grandkids.

Game two has G. Cole pitching for the Yanks and he has 204 K's this year, most in the majors. Joe Ryan for the Twins and once again we will find out if it is good Joe or bad Joe. Hey Joe, read that scouting report about grooving fastballs to Aaron Judge.

2022 Game Log 128 – Red Sox at Twins

Four wins in a row, six loses in a row, back to four wins in a row. Talk about a roller coaster. Twins up against the reeling Red Sox and looking to keep that roller coaster on the upward. Hopefully the plunge isn't against the upcoming series against the Whities.

Red Sox have been bad this year, which given their resources, really speaks to the disorganization in the dugout and front office. I'm not even sure what the plan is with that team. Pitching for the Red Sox is Kutter Crawford who frankly would struggle to even make it on the Twins starting rotation. Chris Archer for the Twins and he's alternated between 4 and 5 innings his last few outings. So he's on tap for a 5 inning stint tonight.

Looks like glorious weather for a game with a first pitch slated at 6:40p.

2022 Game log 121 – Twins at Astros

After losing 3 of 4 to the Rangers at home the Twins find themselves looking to get back on track against the lowly Houston Astros at Enron Field. Narrator: The Astros have the best record in the American League and play at Minute Maid Park

And after scoring 6 runs in four games against the Rangers, the Twins look to feast on the Astro pitching. Narrator: The Astros have the best pitching line up in the American League and tonight's starter, Justin Verlander, has a 1.95 ERA.

The Astros may not be the Royals, but could just be the team the Twins need to face to get back on track with 42 games left in the season. Narrator: While true the Astros are not the Royals, this does not appear the team the Twins need to face right now.

Aaron Sanchez back up for the Twins tonight after a decent outing 3 weeks ago against the Tigers so we'll see how that goes too. Oof.

Game time 7:10p

Twins Lineup
1B - Arraez
SS - Correa
2B - Polanco
DH - Miranda
CF - Gordon
RF - Kepler
3B- Urshela
LF - Cave
C - Sanchez

2022 Game Log 115 – Royals at Twins

It's the August of our discontent in Twins Territory. The team itself is playing lousy, not fun baseball, Emilio Pagan is still on the team, Buxton either seems to hit an epic HR or feebly strikes out. Twins have fallen 2 games back from the hardly trying Guardians and tied with the underperforming White Sox (also how did both teams end up having played two more games than the Twins?) Here at the WGOM, most game logs seem the have a "in progress" tag if they show up at all.

Hopefully nothing better to fix that than an even more lackluster Royals team. After yesterday's win, hopefully the Twins have the wind in their sails. Zach Grienke for the Royals in probably his last season. Sonny Gray up for the Twins and he's been hands down the best pitcher for the Twins this year.

Another 6:40p start on what should be a nice night. Here' hoping the Twins can build on yesterday's win and start to play some fun, winning baseball.
