Given some of the culinary smart-people we have running around this site, I hardly feel qualified to put up a recipe. But I'm just so darn happy with how dinner tonight turned out (no recipe, this just made sense to me! I'm sure I've had something like it somewhere else before, of course. Still...), that I figured I'd put something together. Also, many of these ingredients came from our CSA this week. Also, I want other people to put up recipes more often, in dedicated Nation Has An Appetite form, so they're easier for me to find when I want them. So I'll lead the way. WGOM Fitness: 2 July 2013, Diet Only
My foot hurts. A lot. It's been sore now for 2 weeks. The ball of my foot. At first I thought it was just a bruise. Now I doubt that. It's a foot though, and those get beat up generally, so maybe it just hasn't had a chance to really heal? (Heel? Eh? Eh?). Continue reading WGOM Fitness: 2 July 2013, Diet Only
WGOM Fitness: 24 June 2013, Bad Weekend For Fitness
Sounds from the comments on the most recent fitness post (a week ago... ugh.) that a few people (NBB, Corny) had good weekends for fitness. I decidedly did not. Continue reading WGOM Fitness: 24 June 2013, Bad Weekend For Fitness
Father Knows Best: Father’s Day
It turns out I have the good fortune to write our Father Knows Best post the week after Father's Day. I wish I could say this was well-planned on my part, but, like most of my parenting, I just sort of stumbled into it. I wasn't entirely sure what to write about, but then my "kids" (Philosofette) wrote a whole bunch of post-it notes about the things I do for them and posted them all around our apartment. It made me feel pretty awesome. I'm going to use a couple of those notes to hit on some of the high points of my parenting. Since, you know... they're few and far between. Continue reading Father Knows Best: Father’s Day

WGOM Fitness: 4 June 2013, Color Run
I've fallen off the wagon a little bit. My weight has slowly crept back up over the past month. I'm still lower, but... it's not good. Continue reading WGOM Fitness: 4 June 2013, Color Run
Vampire Weekend – Diane Young
And we'll end the week looking forward, with the song that I think will be one of the anthems of the summer.

I've liked Vampire Weekend just fine before, but wasn't all that impressed. They may have turned a corner here.
George Gershwin – Rhapsody In Blue
Remember back on Monday when I said my family originally bought 2 CD's? I lied. There were 3. The third was a collection of George Gershwin's music. So I guess we're moving back in time here. But my assessment today is the same as it's been from the start: I think this might be the perfect song.
