I first typed that as "Tampa Bay Rats". Close enough I guess.

2023 Game 143: New York Mets at Minnesota Twins
Game in progress. Try to spot Twayn behind home plate.
Tylor Megill
vs
Pablo López
Game 142: mets @ twins
King Kenta takes the mound against David Peterson. Peterson sucks, but he's a lefty, so that means we're.....wait....I'm being told that we totally crush bad lefties now. Huh. Food for thought!
Go Twins!
2023 Game 141: Mets at Minnesota
I appreciate what the more balanced schedule offers, but sometimes it leads to these really weird series that just feel like exhibitions. Especially late in the year, with a contending team, just coming off of a series against their closest rival... that feels weird.
Also, Dalls Keuchel is pitching, and that also feels weird. Kodai Senga pitches for the Mets.
2023 Game 140: Minnesota Twins at Cleveland Guardians
Day game alert!
Joe Ryan
vs
Gavin Williams
A much better showing against Cleveland this year in September that last year. The division is nearly clinched so finishing off the sweep will cut the magic number to 15, give the Twins a winning record against Cleveland, and put them into the (AL Central) vaunted air of eight games over .500.
Gavin started the middle game of the series in Minnesota, pitching only a single inning due to injury. He hasn't pitched since so it might be another short start from either injury or rust.
2023 Game Log 139 – Twins at Guardians
After yesterday's shellacking of the Guardians, the Twins are once again at the dreaded 6 games over .500 level. We've seen losing streaks of 4, 2, and 1 games after reaching these lofty heights -- as if the Twins are afraid of flying too close to the sun. Will they have more runs in them after scoring 3 touchdowns yesterday? Will the Guardians feel like they need to respond?
Sonny Gray on the mound for the Twins and I feel like he's in bulldog mode. Someone named Tanner Bibee for the Guardians. Never heard of the guy but apparently he's one of Cleveland's best pitchers. His strikeout per inning rate is a concern for the free swinging Twins so I don't think we will see double digit runs scored tonight.
It feels like if the Twins can win one more game against Cleveland, that will be the dagger for the season. Let's just get it done tonight and not have to worry about the Guardians thinking they have any chance of catching the Twins.
First pitch at 5:10.
2023 Game Log 137: Minnesota Twins at Cleveland Guardians
Sorry, busy today, gang. Here's a game log. Our old friend Giolito is back. Enjoy the holiday!
Game 136: twins @ rangers
The Twins have kind of had the Rangers' number so far. That's fun.
Tonight, we're going to see that dominance put to the test, because does anyone REALLY believe in Dallas Keuchel? Hopefully, he gnoshes on enough innings tonight that the bullpen isn't taxed and that the offense can keep them in it.
2023 Game 135: Friday Night Lights – Twins at Texas
In a rematch of the one game Texas took last week, Max Scherzer pitches against Joe Ryan. I think this was the game Texas won. I can't be bothered to double check.
With the moves Cleveland made to bolster their pitching, the season seems to have taken on a bit of a desperate tone. Starting a big series against the 1st 2nd 3rd place Rangers, with Scherzer on the mound, makes it all feel even more dire. This is the fun baseball - the games that seem to really count. A win tonight would feel huge.
And maybe that's what this year's team has really been about - the feelings. They go through stretches that feel way more brutal than they actual are. They go through stretches that feel way more amazing then they actual are. The feelings on this team are ratched up to 11, somehow. It strikes me as way different than a lot of the past iterations.
And I'm kind of good with it. At least, that's how I feel right now.
2023 Game 134: Cleveland Guardians at Minnesota Twins
Tanner Bibee
vs
Sonny Gray
Day game alert!
Final game of an almost 12-game homestand. A loss today guarantees the Twins pick ahead of the Giants on the waiver wire. The Diamondbacks play the Dodgers tonight so not counting on them winning that. I'd still prefer a win to keep the Guardians well behind in the standings and make the division look a tiny bit less sad.
