André Jolivet – Fantasie-Caprice

I know the question on everyone's minds has been . . . will Pepper play anything under 10 minutes this week? You are in luck, because this twentieth century flute piece, which my high school self was quite taken with, comes in well under that mark.

Hélène Boulègue, flute
François Dumont, piano

Anna Þorvaldsdóttir – Metacosmos

I was taken with another Þorvaldsdóttir composition recently that doesn't seem to exist as a live video anywhere, but my searching led me to this one.

January 31, 2019

Fun fact: I got to visit Harpa Concert Hall ever so briefly on my first day in Iceland.

And here's a trailer for the piece I'd wanted to play:

2024 Game Log 106 – Twins at Mets

Ouch! Twins got spanked yesterday out in Queens, which is disappointing after taking two of three from both the Phillies and Tigers. Guardians have been scuffling along as well but Twins haven't been able to take advantage. I'm sure however by the end of today's trading deadline some reinforcements will be brought to the clubhouse. WAIT WAIT is that Rodney Dobnak's music I'm hearing.... Cue up the parade route Governor Flanagan, looks like the Twins added a playoff-seasoned veteran.

David Festa for the Twins tonight and while he's shown some ability in the minors, he's had a tough time up at the bigs. Hopefully it's just a matter of time as the Twins could use a decent performance tonight. Sean Manaea for the Mets and he has beautiful hair.

Game time 6:10.
