OMAHA STORM CHASERS 3, ST. PAUL SAINTS 1 IN ST. PAUL

Brian O'Keefe homered in the eight to tie it 1-1 and Cam Devanney hit a two-run homer in the ninth to win it for Omaha.

Multi-hit games:  Alex Isola was 2-for-4 with a double.  DaShawn Keirsey, Jr. was 2-for-4.

Pitching prowess:  Louie Varland struck out seven in six shutout innings, giving up two hits and a walk.  Caleb Baragar pitched a scoreless inning, giving up a hit and a walk.

Trailing 3-2, Amarillo scored seven runs in the sixth inning.  A. J. Vukovich hit a three-run homer in the inning.

Cedar Rapids led 9-3 in the sixth and held on.  Quad Cities had men on second and third when the game ended.

Multi-hit games:  Rubel Cespedes was 2-for-4 with a home run, a walk, and four RBIs.  Kevin Maitan was 2-for-4 with two doubles, two runs, and two RBIs.

The Twins led 7-3, but the Rangers Red tied it with four in the seventh and Paulino Santana delivered a walkoff single in the eighth.

I've got like a pinched nerve or something, and moving in certain ways is literally a giant pain (getting up from a supine position is the worst). I remember seeing a study somewhere that said using/muttering/yelling curse words was more effective for dealing with pain than using non-curse words in the same context. Honestly, getting in and out of the car, it seems to work a little bit. At least it feels worse when I can't use this strategy if the kids are with me.

Mike Port is a long-time major league baseball executive, serving as the general manager of the California Angels from 1984-1991.

Shigeru Takada was a star in Japan from 1968-1980.  He also was a manager, general manager, and television commentator.

Jim Wolf has been a major league umpire since 1999.

Pitcher Brent Stentz did not play in the majors, but was in the Twins’ minor league system from 1997-2001.  In 1998, he set an Eastern League record with 43 saves.

2024 Game Log 100 – Phillies at Twins

We are at 100 games for the season. Wow. Last night the Twins had a nice victory against maybe the best team in the league this year and hoping to keep it going today. Especially important because it appears that the Guardians have started to play like we all thought they would and first place is withing striking distance. Should be an exiting last two months of the season in the AL Central.

Zach Wheeler up for the Phillies and another great arm that the Twins will have to deal with. Simeon Woods Richardson for the Twins and he continues to make the case for being a permanent member of the Twins starting staff.

First pitch at 6:40 and weather should hold out, although conditions ripe for a pop up storm.
