Mags sent me a request a little while back, this is me coming through on that. His words below:
The Foo Fighters live in some dude's garage. If Dave Grohl wasn't already #1 on my list of "rock stars who seem like cool dudes and I want to hang out with", this definitely would have put him there.

Happy Birthday, buddy.
something to soothe those sore necks and ringing ears.

seriously though, great stuff, cheaptoy. we need that every now and then. kind of like a forest fire (arizona excepted).
Thanks for putting up with my tastes all week. I figure a fitting end to cheaptoy week would involve some cookie monster vocals.
Behold! The Eagles of death metal! (or at least, the inspiration for the name of that band.)

A band already introduced to the Nation.

Ahhh, Death. Founders of a genre. Their last two albums were terrific, some of the best music I've ever heard. Sadly, Chuck Schuldiner, founder of the band and lead guitarist and vocalist, died of a brain tumor in 2001 while working on a project with similar musical style but a more traditional vocalist.

It wouldn't seem right to have a cheaptoy week and not play some Iron Maiden.

For fun, the same song as sung by original lead singer Paul Di'anno after the jump.
After yesterday's vocal quality disaster (although I felt the band was pretty tight, at least.) I made sure to listen to this one all the way through. The sound quality isn't the greatest, but the performance is far better.
Anyway, all that anyone really needs to take away from this is that Russell Allen and Michael Romeo are awesome.

and so begins the guest DJ week of cheaptoy. prepare to have your faces thoroughly melted...
I thought we'd start out one of the lowest rated weeks in WGOM history by saying a little prayer in the Metal Church.
