  1. This really makes me want coffee and beignet, from a nice little French Quarter cafe where you can sit outside at a wrought iron table and read your newspaper in the morning sunshine. Yeah, that would be nice right about now.

    1. I need to show this recipe to my wife and children. I know that I am the primary cook in the family, but I feel that this is something that they can excel at.

    2. Ha, I've seen that one before. But you left out the fact that it's vegan AND gluten free!

    1. I'm conflicted. On one hand I don't like things, but on the other I do like the argument against liking things. Hrm.

  2. Alex Meyer went five innings and gave up just one run on six hits, one walk and eight strikeouts for New Britain. He threw just 75 pitches, 53 for strikes. You know, if the Twins want pitchers to go deeper in games, it would be helpful if they allowed them to go deeper in games in the minor leagues. 9-year-olds are allowed to throw 75 pitches in Little League.

    1. I agree. I'm all for not abusing young pitchers, but I don't know when a seventy-five pitch limit became a thing for an uninjured pitcher.

  3. Tyler Duffey, Josue Montanez and Tim Atherton combined on a no-hitter today for Cedar Rapids. Duffey was perfect through seven innings with 7 Ks, but was pulled after throwing 76 pitches.

    1. This was Duffey's first professional start. He now has a career 34-2 K-BB rate in 26 career innings. He pitched 19 innings in relief for Elizabethton last year. He's only allowed 10 hits in his career.

      1. Well, so far so good for at least one part of the college reliever-to-starter draft strategy!
