Puerto Rican Publication: Games of 11/30

A needed big game for Eddie Rosario.  These two games were really the long and the short of it.

MAYAGUEZ 5, CAROLINA 4 IN MAYAGUEZ (15 INNINGS)

Twins:  Kennys Vargas (Mayaguez) was 0-for-6 with a walk.  Eddie Rosario (Mayaguez) was 3-for-6 with a walk and scored twice.  Daniel Ortiz (Mayaguez) was 2-for-4 with an RBI.  Dereck Rodriguez (Mayaguez) was used as a reserve and was 1-for-1.

Carolina:  Shuhei Fukuda was 2-for-8 with a double and two runs.  Ruben Gotay was 2-for-5 with two walks and an RBI.  Bobby Bramhall pitched 5.2 innings, giving up two runs on eight hits and two walks with two strikeouts.

Mayaguez:  Luis Figueroa was 4-for-6 with a walk and a home run, scoring twice and driving in two.  Roberto Perez (Cleveland) was 2-for-3 with two RBIs.  Jerry Sands (Pittsburgh) was 2-for-7.

The game:  Osvaldo Martinez (Dodgers) hit a two-run double to give Carolina a 2-0 lead in the top of the second.  Mayaguez got one in the second and tied it in the sixth on an RBI single by Figueroa.  Each team scored in the ninth and each team scored in the eleventh.  In the fifteenth, Noel Cuevas (Dodgers) doubled and scored on an RBI single by Perez to win the game.

The game was suspended in the bottom of the first.  Ponce leads 1-0 and has men on second and third with one out.
