  1. Mrs. Twayn is spending the afternoon with her sister. Harper thoroughly expects to be taken to the dog park, again. The Twins have a day game and I have a hangover.

    Yep, it's Sunday alright.

  2. Some asshole ran into our car last night and left without leaving any information. That'll be 500 bones that we don't really have right now. Man, I'm pissed.

    1. Ugh, sorry to hear that. On the bright side, at least you weren't murdered as a result of the collision.

      1. I didn't go anywhere today, so I'm not in the traffic jam, but there was a road rage shooting on 90 by the dells today. Good times! I'm super close to treading into FZ territory as I type this, so I'll stop.

    1. Reminds me of a jr. varsity buckets game between home (Park Rapids) and visiting Little Falls. This would be somewhere between 75-77'ish - the game was at the Middle School. I was on the bench (started school in October at age 4 so hadn't had the growth stint that everyone else had just celebrated).

At any rate, we were up quickly, like 20-2 or suchat. Then they put in their starters...

L.F. dude steals the ball, runs down the court, and jams it. I had never seen a jam in a real life game before. They butchered us. I played in the last 3 minutes of the game but at that point it was like Lady MacBeth of Mtsensk.

      1. I'm pretty sure I hated everyone that had a growth spurt later than me. I miss dominating entirely due to size advantage.

  3. Crikey, the Yanquis suck - they're 8-14. How could any team be that bad? (*ducks, covers*).

  4. I'd have a hard time not considering the Film Festival episode of the Simpson's among the top three episodes. Soooo many good lines.

      1. Yep, thanks for providing these title.

"just hook it up to my vaaaaains"

  5. Trey had another big hit yesterday. His team was playing in a tournament at the Western Regionals field, which is a really nice field where they have the All-Star tournaments for 11-12 year olds that determine what All-Star teams get to go to the Little League World Series from the West and Northwest regions. ESPN comes and televises games at that field every August. Since Trey's team is in first place in its league, it was invited to play the first place team from another league, which was hosting the one-day event. Trey struck out looking his first time at-bat, but had an infield single in the fifth inning with one out, which brought in a run when the other team threw the ball away. The scoreboard wasn't being used for the game, so I'm not sure if that run put his team ahead but the game ended in a tie because the other team, which was the "home" team, didn't get a chance to bat due to the run rule, or if the run was the tying run. Either way, it was a great moment for Trey and his team.

Junior also played a game yesterday. His home field is at the Western Regionals, but it is the bigger field for age 13 and older, which isn't nearly as nice because 11-12 is the only age anyone really cares about in Little League. Junior's team won by forfeit since the other team didn't have enough players. They played a scrimmage that ended in a 6-6 tie. Junior started in right field and then came into pitch with 2 outs in the second inning. He pitched the final 3 1/3 innings and gave up three runs. He also grounded out twice as a batter.
