Minor Details: Games of May 15

Aaron Slegers is ready to move up.  An offensive explosion for the Red Wings.  Another one for the Lookouts as Randy LeBlanc had another good game.  Jimmy Kerrigan hit a big home run and Sean Poppen pitched well.  A big day for Alex Kirilloff.  Twins sweep!

ROCHESTER 9, SYRACUSE 1 IN ROCHESTER

The Red Wings scored three in the first to take a 3-0 lead and put the game out of reach with four in the sixth.  Rochester had nineteen hits.

Taylor Featherston was 3-for-3 with a double and a walk, scoring twice.  Ryan LaMarre was 3-for-5 with two doubles and a triple, driving in four and scoring three.  He is batting .462.  Zack Granite was 3-for-6 and scored twice.  Jermaine Curtis was 2-for-4 with a walk.  Jake Cave was 2-for-5 with a double.  Brock Stassi was 2-for-5 with two RBIs.  Kennys Vargas was 2-for-5 with two RBIs.  Aaron Slegers pitched six innings, giving up one run on three hits and a walk and striking out one.  His ERA is 2.28.  Tyler Duffey pitched two shutout innings, giving up three hits and striking out one.  His ERA is 1.65.  Gabriel Moya struck out two in a scoreless inning, giving up a hit and a walk.  His ERA is 2.79.

CHATTANOOGA 11, TENNESSEE 3 IN CHATTANOOGA

It was scoreless until the fifth, when the Lookouts scored four times.  Chattanooga put the game out of reach with five in the seventh.

Brent Rooker was 3-for-4 with four RBIs.  Tanner English was 2-for-4 with a double.  Alex Perez was 2-for-5 and is batting .415.  Chris Paul was 1-for-4 with a two-run homer and a walk.  LaMonte Wade was 1-for-3 with a walk and two runs and is batting .301.  Nick Gordon was 0-for-4 with a walk and is batting .340.  Zander Weil was 1-for-4 with two RBIs and is batting .317.  Randy LeBlanc pitched six innings, giving up a run on seven hits and a walk and striking out four.  His ERA is 2.14.

FORT MYERS 1, JUPITER 0 IN JUPITER (GAME 1--7 INNINGS)

Jimmy Kerrigan homered in the second inning and that was it.  Sean Poppen and Andrew Vasquez took it from there.

Taylor Grzelakowski was 2-for-3 and is batting .319.  Kerrigan was 1-for-3 and the home run was his fourth.  He is batting .327.  Poppen struck out five in five shutout innings, giving up four hits and two walks.  His ERA is 2.70.  Vasquez struck out two in two shutout innings, giving up two hits and a walk.  His ERA is 0.78.

FORT MYERS AT JUPITER (GAME 2)

Rained out.

CEDAR RAPIDS 6, QUAD CITIES 5 IN CEDAR RAPIDS

The Kernels lost leads of 3-0 and 4-3, but went into the lead to stay in the seventh when Alex Kirilloff tripled and scored.  Jose Miranda homered in the eighth for an insurance run and Cedar Rapids needed it, as the River Bandits got a home run from Miguelangel Sierra in the ninth.

Kirilloff was 3-for-4 with his sixth home run in addition to the triple.  He drove in two, scored three, and is batting .317.  Ben Rodriguez was 2-for-3.  Miranda's home run was his second.  Edwar Colina struck out four in three innings, but allowed three runs on four hits and four walks.  His ERA is 2.53.  Jovani Moran struck out four in two shutout innings, giving up two hits and two walks.  His ERA is 2.76.
