Charlie Barnes has a short but good outing.  Jordan Balazovic throws six no-hit innings.  Aaron Sabato and Alex Isola both homer twice.  Mikey Perez keeps hitting.

OMAHA 6, ST. PAUL 3 IN ST. PAUL

The Storm Chasers hit four home runs in taking the win.

Batting stars:  Tomas Telis was 2-for-4 with a home run, his eleventh.  Gilberto Celestino was 2-for-4 with a double.

Pitching stars:  Charlie Barnes pitched 3.1 innings, giving up one run on two hits and no walks and striking out one.  Chris Nunn pitched a perfect inning and struck out one.

Opposition stars:  Ryan McBroom was 2-for-3 with two home runs (his twenty-eighth and twenty-ninth) and a walk.  Bobby Witt, Jr. was 2-for-4 with a home run (his fifteenth), two runs, and two RBIs.  Foster Griffin pitched 4.2 scoreless innings, giving up four hits and no runs and striking out four.

Good stats:  Jose Miranda was 1-for-4 and is batting .331.  Celestino is batting .305.  Telis is batting .304.

Bad stats:  B. J. Boyd was 0-for-1 and is batting .150.  Nick Vincent gave up a run in one inning and has an ERA of 5.08.  Chandler Shepherd allowed three runs in 1.2 innings and has an ERA of 5.87.  Robinson Leyer gave up a run in two innings and has an ERA of 6.20.

Record:  The Saints are 57-55, in third place in the AAA Southeast/West, eight games behind Toledo.

WICHITA 5, NORTHWEST ARKANSAS 3 IN WICHITA

The Wind Surge took the lead with a two-run third and scored three in the fifth.

Batting stars:  Trey Cabbage was 2-for-3 with a two-run homer (his seventeenth) and two runs.  Roy Morales was 2-for-4.

Pitching stars:  Jordan Balazovic pitched six innings, giving up one run on no hits and two walks and striking out five.  Adam Lau pitched a scoreless inning, giving up two walks.  Jordan Gore retired all four men he faced, striking out two.

Opposition star:  Kevin Merrill was 1-for-2 with a double, a walk, and two runs.

Good stats:  Morales is batting .310.  Gore has an ERA of 1.44.

Bad stats:  None.

Record:  The Wind Surge is 64-48, in first place in the AA Central/North, two games ahead of Arkansas.

CEDAR RAPIDS 7, WISCONSIN 3 IN WISCONSIN

A four-run ninth broke a 3-3 tie.  Aaron Sabato hit a two-run homer in the inning.

Batting stars:  Alex Isola was 3-for-5 with two home runs (his sixteenth and seventeenth).  Sabato was 2-for-4 with two home runs (his fourth and fifth), a walk, and three RBIs.  Matt Wallner was 1-for-3 with a home run (his fourteenth), two walks, and two runs.

Pitching stars:  Denny Bentley struck out four in 2.2 scoreless innings, giving up three hits and two walks.  Osiris German struck out three in 1.1 scoreless innings, giving up a hit and a walk.

Opposition stars:  Carlos Rodriguez was 2-for-5.  Joey Wiemer was 1-for-4 with a three-run homer, his tenth.  Evan Reifert struck out three in two shutout innings, giving up a walk.

Starter:  Sean Mooney struck out six in four innings, but gave up three runs on three walks.

Good stats:  Jeferson Morales was 0-for-4 and is batting .313.  Anthony Prato was 1-for-3 and is batting .308.  Bentley has an ERA of 0.71.  Zach Featherstone did not give up a run in two-thirds of an inning and has an ERA of 2.28.

Opposition stars:  Ryan Holgate was 2-for-4 with a home run (his third) and two RBIs.  Jose Moreno struck out five in 4.1 scoreless innings, giving up four hits and three walks.  Inchan Paniagua struck out four in 3.2 scoreless innings, giving up three hits and a walk.
