I have too. Actually, we found it difficult to find people who had an English accent: certainly very few in the service sector. Thank goodness for the bartender at the Tower Pub.
I was in Manchester, so I had no trouble finding accents. I clearly didn't pick up any slang, though, since I've been stymied twice by British leaning words.
This feels slightly tainted because someone I follow on Twitter made a comment early this morning about the answer being British. I feel like people should at least wait until the afternoon to make any sort of comment about the answer. Can I mute Wordle tweets for a certain period of time each day?
I mentioned this to Colin Wolfson on FB the other day - that he needed to stop making "hints" about the word. I never found them helpful - if anything, they were harmful - but I was always worried they would trigger something.

Ya’ll have inspired me to make this bread today, too. I was already making this pizza dough today so we could have it on Sunday, so I figure if I’ve got everything out already, why not add a loaf of bread.
Mine ended up a little more dense than I expected, but Kernel said it tastes like the bread you get at restaurants before the meal (“not like store bought, but good”).
Mine is a little more dense than I would prefer as well, but still very good. My 11-year-old said it tasted just like the French bread we get from the grocery store bakery, but I think it was better than that.
I think I didn't let it rise long enough in the pan before baking. Next time I'll try to be a little more patient.
