2023 Game 7: Astros at Twins – The Home Opener

I feel like that roadtrip taught us a little something about the '23 Twins - they should beat bad teams, but good pitching is going to stop them. If only they had a guy like Arraez who could consistently make contact no matter who he's facing...

But today we get the home opener, and maybe Spring is finally here? And the sun is out! And the Sonny is out too, since he's our starting pitcher. These are all good things, right? It's a good Friday!

Alright, I have to get back to work. Go Twins.

CUBS 12, SAINTS 11 IN ST. PAUL

St. Paul scored six in the eighth to go up 11-8, but Iowa came back with four in the ninth.  Christopher Morel's two-run single brought home they tying and go-ahead runs.

Edouard Julien was 2-for-5 with a home run (his second), a walk, three runs, and two RBIs.  Kyle Garlick was 2-for-5 with a home run (his second), two runs, and two RBIs.  Matt Wallner was 2-for-5 with a double and four RBIs.  Tyler White was 2-for-4 with a home run and a walk.  The first four men in the Saints lineup were 8-for-19 with three home runs, a double, two walks, seven runs, and nine RBIs.

Starter Baliey Ober struck out six in 2.2 innings, but allowed three runs on three hits and four walks.  The only Saints pitcher to go unscored upon was Connor Sadzeck, who retired the only man he faced.  The four ninth-inning runs were given up by Cody Laweryson.  On the one hand, they were all unearned due to a two-out error.  On the other hand, he gave up four hits and a walk in the inning.
