  1. He's damaged goods so maybe they have a chance now. Ohtani's busted elbow to go with Correa's Heisenburg ankle.

        1. The physical therapy exercises they gave me help a lot with the bulging discs in my back. I hope something like that can help you, too.

    1. Very funny you mention this one. Walking Shadow is my friend John Heimbuch from college. We graduated the same year and everything. He wasn’t much of an actor then, but he’s a very smart and creative guy and has figured out his characters to make the business work for him. More than that, he has relentless drive, which the rest of us in the business wish we had. While we’ve overlapped at festivals and such, we haven’t actually collaborated on anything since college (other than helping a classmate through a suicidal patch, which resulted in John and I hanging out for the first time in years).

I haven’t acted in quite a while. The messy business with the director in Washington turning out to be a Harvey Weinstein-lite really turned me off from the business. Though recently I’ve finally gotten the itch back and frankly I have a little more time with one daughter graduating and leaving for college.

      1. Theater and puzzles? Of course my mind went to Spookymilk. Perhaps they can throw in some sports memorabilia into their latest offering.

I'm pretty sure we've talked about Walking Shadow Theater in the past. I have loved some of their plays over the years. They have been doing some very popular audience-involved puzzle shows lately, which isn't exactly my thing but I'm glad it's helping them keep the lights on. Hopefully Walking Shadows can continue to also do some other interesting works as well.

  2. I have talked here about my fitness journey 2023 and a big part of that is parkrun, which is a weekly, free, timed 5k event held at 9:00AM on Saturdays. There are three of them in the Twin Cities and I go to the one in Cottage Grove. A while back, I reached my goal for the year (sub 30 minutes) and I wrote about it on Facebook. The North American parkrun director saw it and I edited it a little bit (although not enough, there is a maddening error, half-baked, I tell y’a!) and this morning it was posted on the parkrun USA blog. Life goals! I’ve been published on a blog! 🙂

Let me take this opportunity to invite you to run or walk! at the Kingston Park, Cottage Grove parkrun. I Will describe it like this: it has a real WGOM-type vibe. Informal, fun, supportive. Just really good people getting together for a stroll in the park and then breakfast afterwards.

My back is bothering me quite a bit this week, which is unfortunate because this week is a milestone for me: 25 parkruns. If I have to crawl, I’m gonna. But I will not be running.

Let me know if you are interested in any week. Or just show up! You can register at parkrun.com and get a barcode that is scanned. You will get a parkrun page with all your results.

    1. Keep picking them up & putting them down, Boss. What you’ve done since that first Afib is life-altering and the way you share the product of your dedication is infectious in the best way. I sense more PRs lie ahead on the path.

  3. I'm glad I'm a fan of a franchise that hasn't hired Tony LaRussa not once, not twice, nor thrice.
