Minor League Players of the Week

Rochester:  Clete Thomas  was 5-for-17 with four walks.  For the season, he is hitting .326/.442/.512 in 43 at-bats.

New Britain:  James Beresford was 9-for-23 with a double and five walks.  For the season, he is hitting .302/.407/.349 in 43 at-bats.

Fort Myers:  Miguel Sano was 8-for-24 with a double, three home runs, and four walks.  For the season, he is hitting .375/.438/.734 in 64 at-bats.

Cedar Rapids:  Niko Goodrum was 7-for-18 with two doubles, a home run, six walks, and a stolen base.  For the season, he is hitting .298/.400/.383 in 47 at-bats.

A member of the pro football Hall of Fame, Ken Strong played minor league baseball from 1929-1931 and played very well.  He hit 41 home runs and had 130 RBIs in 1930 in what is now the Eastern League and hit .340 in 1931 in the International League.
