Giants, you say?
Jordan Hicks for San Fran and Chris Paddack for Minnesota.
Also, I love when the local teams are matching up against teams from the same city at the same time.

Game in progress.
Dean Kremer
vs
Bailey Ober
joe already picked the better Target Field-Center image but this one comes close.
Twins go for the sweep while Wolves try to even the series.
Charlie Morton
vs
Simeon Woods Richardson
Morton has a 9.36 ERA this year. I saw that and thought he must have only a few starts and got shelled in at least one. No, this is his sixth start of the season and he appeared in relief three times. He's allowed at least four earned runs in all five starts. He struck out ten Red Sox in his second start of the season and still surrendered five runs over five innings. The absolute lowest his ERA has been was 8.84. It went up after his latest appearance, a single inning in relief, where he allowed two runs in a losing effort.
Twins back at home after a so-so road trip where beating the Red Sox was nice, but losing three close games to the Guardians was a gut punch. Next up, the surprisingly mediocre Baltimore Orioles who stumble into town with a 13-20 record.
Pablo Lopez on the mound for the Twins with his second start after coming back from IR. He's pitched solidly this year but would be great to see Lopez be even more effective now that the weather is turning warmer. Cade Povich for the O's and after a rough start to the season, he may be turning things around.
Finally, Royce Lewis makes his 2025 debut tonight. Looks like a DH stint to start off. Hopefully Royce is a tonic for the ass bats Twins seem to still wield these days.
Looks like a glorious night for baseball with first pitch at 6:40.
ALSO...
Game one of the NBA Western Conference semis tonight at Target Center. Wolves against Warriors. We can use this as the game log. Tip-off scheduled for 8:30ish(?)
Joe Ryan gets the start against Brayan Bello, and the Twins try to get off this cursed losing skid.
Here's a game log. It's a day game. I didn't realize we had a game today, but I guess we do. They're warming up right now.
Woods-Richardson and his 4.06 ERA are starting for the Twins, Ben Lively with a 4.40 ERA for the Guardians so we'll set the over/under for combined runs at 8.5.
Play ball!
Pablo López
vs
Luis Ortiz
Tough loss last night but it was against someone (pre-2025) good. Tonight's matchup should be a bit easier. Ortiz was acquired from Pittsburgh in a three-team trade involving the Blue Jays. He has a career 4.66 FIP and 4.13 ERA. Cleveland seems to have gotten him to strike out way more batters but now he is walking nearly five per nine along with 1.4 HR/9. Expect strikeouts, walks, and fly balls. If the Twins can get them over the fence, this is a very winnable game.
Twins have a nice little four game win streak and at 13-16, have at least given some hope to the season as we exit April. Seventeen hits, 11 runs, and a nice Bailey Ober outing of 7.2 innings of one run pitching against the hated Clevelanders is also fun to see.
Chris Paddack on the mound for the Twins and one has to imagine, he's on a short lease at this point. The Twins have lost all five games he's pitched in this year with three recorded losses. There's enough ready arms in St. Paul so if we see another poor outing tonight I don't think there will be a lot of pushback if the Twins DFA his ass.
Game time 5:10 meaning you can watch before Andor or the Wild get going later in the evening.
Welcome back Pablo Lopez!
Kyle Hendricks goes for the Angels.
Bryse Wilson
vs
David Festa
Festa has made two starts this season and has totaled only nine innings. While it does make the x/9 math simple, the Twins need to let him pitch deeper. The Twins were in line for a win when Festa left both of his starts, with a bullpen meltdown losing one of those, but poor Festa can only get a no decision since he hasn't completed five innings yet. And it's not because Festa has racked up huge pitch counts since he averaged 70 this season and was often pulled with fewer than 80 pitches last season. Let him go deeper and keep the bullpen from needing to cover as much.
