It rained here for much of yesterday. Desert rain might be one of the few things I miss when I leave this place eventually.

The toughest thing about living in this complex is that it seems to be a short stop for people on their way up. My daughters have made a lot of great friends only to have them move out of the apartments, with very little warning, to actual houses or larger apartments. Today the best friend they've made here is leaving and for the first time, they'll be left with no close friends here after having times when there were ten or fifteen girls running around together. Someday Skim and Sour Cream will be the ones to disappoint some kids around here, and that makes me sad, too.

I found out that the vending company that supplies snacks at work also provides the coffee to the company at no charge. I was pretty surprised by that, but then again, considering the quality of the beverage, I'm thinking it is appropriately priced.

Water, guys. It's a good beverage. Between the coffee and the beer, I occasionally forget it exists.

I'm having a month at work where every moment creeps and every day seems endless. What do you do when you have those?

It's easy to get excited about the impending baseball season when you meet as many stars as I have in the last week. Those young rich dudes and their electronics, I tells ya.

I was reminded yesterday that sleep issues can be caused by going to bed by well-lit electronics. Though I know this to be true, it's a hard habit to break.
