Not much offense for the Red Wings, again. Omar Bencomo has another fine game for the Lookouts. Luis Arraez stays hot for the Miracle, but it wasn't enough. The Kernels get blanked. The DSL Twins win the first half of the game but lose the second half.

Good performances in losing efforts. Adalberto Mejia pitched well. Sean Miller was outstanding. Jaylin Davis and Luis Arraez were perfect. Amilcar Cruz leads the DSL Twins to the only organizational win.
Minor Details: Games of June 7
A bad game for Dietrich Enns. A big comeback falls short for the Lookouts. The Miracle game is suspended. When Bailey Ober is on, he's really on. Lots of hitting for the DSL Twins.
Minor Details: Games of June 5
Nick Gordon keeps hitting, but gets no help. Big innings sink the Lookouts. Lots of hits, but not lots of runs for the Miracle. Grand slams lead the Kernels to a doubleheader split. The DSL Twins can't beat the Yankees, either.
Minor Details: Games of June 4
One win, two losses. Ninth-inning meltdowns waste strong starting pitching by Kohl Stewart and Tyler Watson.
Dominican Summer League Preview
The Dominican Summer League (DSL) gets underway this morning. Here's a brief preview.
There are forty-three teams in the DSL. Teams take the names of their parent clubs (e. g. DSL Twins, DSL Astros, etc.) As there are obviously not forty-four major league teams, this means some teams have two entries in the league. These are sometimes differentiated by numbers (e. g. Cubs1 and Cubs2), sometimes by colors (e. g. Cardinals Blue and Cardinals Red), and in one instance by the names of great players (Dodgers Guerrero and Dodgers Robinson). There is also one coop team the DSL Indians/Brewers.
The teams play a seventy-two game schedule. Thirty-five players may be on the active roster. No player on the Active List may have four or more years of prior Minor League Service. In addition, no Draft-eligible player from the U.S. or Canada (not including players from Puerto Rico) may participate in the DSL. At one time there were age limits, but that is no longer the case.
There are six divisions, each with anywhere from six to eight teams. The six division winners go into the playoffs. The two teams with the best records get a first-round bye. It appears that the first round will be best-of-three and the other rounds best-of-five, although I am not certain of that. There will be a game of the week broadcast on radio, and you can find a link to the broadcast at dominicansummerleague.com, but it's in Spanish, so unless you speak Spanish, which I don't, that probably won't do you a whole lot of good.
The players are fine athletes, but they're mostly young. There tend to be lots of walks and errors. But still, it's baseball, and the Twins have team there, so we'll be following it. Go Twins!

Minor Details: Games of September 2
The Red Wings let one get a way. LaMonte Wade leads the Lookouts. The Miracle clinch the division. Elizabethton has its first playoff game rained out and will play tonight. The GCL Twins have a playoff game this morning. The DSL Twins are done.
Minor Details: Games of September 1
A solid performance by Aaron Slegers. Dereck Rodriguez pitches well and Gabriel Moya has nothing to learn in Chattanooga. Anthony Marzi pitches well in his high-A debut, but Fort Myers fails to clinch the division. Jimmy Kerrigan hit two homers. Mariano Calcano keeps the DSL Twins' hopes alive.
Minor Details: Games of August 31
A fine game by David Hurlbut. A near cycle by T. J. White and a fine game by Zack Littell. Lewis Thorpe also had a fine game in a loss. A fine comeback for the Kernels. Not much was fine for the E-Twins. The GCL Twins roll along into the playoffs. The DSL Twins face a must-win game today.
