Minor League Players of the Week

Rochester:  Clete Thomas  was 5-for-17 with four walks.  For the season, he is hitting .326/.442/.512 in 43 at-bats.

New Britain:  James Beresford was 9-for-23 with a double and five walks.  For the season, he is hitting .302/.407/.349 in 43 at-bats.

Fort Myers:  Miguel Sano was 8-for-24 with a double, three home runs, and four walks.  For the season, he is hitting .375/.438/.734 in 64 at-bats.

Cedar Rapids:  Niko Goodrum was 7-for-18 with two doubles, a home run, six walks, and a stolen base.  For the season, he is hitting .298/.400/.383 in 47 at-bats.

Where They Stand

Rochester is 2-11, in sixth (last) place, eight games behind Pawtucket.  The Red Wings have lost their last seven games.

New Britain is 7-6, tied for third, one game behind Trenton.  The Rock Cats have lost one consecutive game.

Fort Myers is 12-1, in first place, three games ahead of St. Lucie.  The Miracle has lost one consecutive game.

Cedar Rapids 9-3, in first place, a half game ahead of Quad cities.  The Kernels have won their last two games.

Rochester:  Chris Colabello was 6-for-19 with two home runs, two doubles, and three walks.  For the season, he is hitting .441/.525/.853 in 34 at-bats.

New Britain:  Daniel Ortiz was 10-for-24 with two home runs, a triple, two doubles, and two walks.  For the season, he is hitting .400/.450/.743 in 35 at-bats.

Fort Myers:  Angel Morales was 11-for-24 with five doubles, a triple, and three walks.  For the season, he is hitting .333/.381/.538 in 39 at-bats.  D. J. Baxendale gave up two runs (one earned) on six hits, walking three and striking out eleven in 10.1 innings (two starts).  Those are also his season stats.

Cedar Rapids:  Dalton Hicks was 7-for-17 with five doubles, a home run, and two walks.  For the season, he is hitting .387/.472/.806 in 31 at-bats.
