Game 4: Minnesota @ Kansas City. 7:10pm

The Twins are the only American League team without a win.  This is not cool, but at least the losses were not shutouts like last year.

Last night,  Joe Mauer hit his 120th career HR. Maybe this is the year he hits the 15-20 that will maybe silence some of the "Joe Mauer never hits HRs" critics. I hope he hits 80.

Ervin Santana will start for the Twins. He had a handful of pitched Opening Day before being pulled out of the game due to a long rain delay. Yordano Ventura starts for the Royals.

I predict the Twins will get their first victory of the season.

  1. Dick, why is Escobar doing an interview in English "to his credit"? Is it because those darn foreigners who don't speak English are lazy?

  2. Geez, we've got snow and something like 45 mph winds here. Fortunately the only place I need to be is in my chair with a blanket and a beer.

  3. It's early in the season I know, but Sano isn't doing that badly in right field. He's had one misplay and one that maybe he could've gotten to, but he is at least 20 points above Willingham level.

  4. Oh yeah. Him. I've been disappointed enough in Sano and Buxton that I forgot about that other unproven player.

  5. Oh man, next time you see the replay of the Park home run, watch the catcher drop his head after the ball is hit. He knew it was crushed.

  6. This is good baseball

      1. Well, I did vote for them to finish fourth on Opening Day, so I didn't have much hope to start the year. On the bright side, Glen Perkins will be nice and rested when he finally gets into a game in May.

    1. Perez took a fastball right off the inner arm. Looks like him and the pitcher were crossed up.

    2. Davis and Perez crossed up - Perez took a fastball off the inside of his wrist, thinking he was going to be on the receiving end something off-speed.

Well that was a dumb thing to say.

  8. Before the Rosario at bat, I asked DK what the odds were that he would strike out on a high fastball. He said 75%. I guess what happened covered the other 25% pretty well.

  9. Bummer of a start to the season, but gosh darn it, I do love the fact that I can watch the Twins again this year.
