Minor Details: Games of July 6

Kohl Stewart struggles at AAA.  Anthony Marzi gets lots of strikeouts.  Tyler Wells and Lewin Diaz lead the Miracle.The Kernels waste good pitching by Blayne Enlow.  Janigson Villalobos leads the GCL Twins.  A big comeback falls short for the DSL Twins.

LEHIGH VALLEY 7, ROCHESTER 6 IN LEHIGH VALLEY (10 INNINGS)

Juan Graterol singled home a run in the sixth to make it 5-5 and it stayed there until the tenth.  A sacrifice fly brought home a run for the Red Wings in the top of the tenth.  In the bottom half, a hit batsman and a walk loaded the bases with one out and a single-plus-error brought home the tying and deciding runs.

LaMonte Wade was 2-for-3 with a home run (his third) and two walks, scoring twice.  Nick Gordon was 2-for-5 with a home run (his second) and a double, scoring twice.  Kennys Vargas was 2-for-5 with a double.

Kohl Stewart struggled again in his second AAA start of the season, pitching five innings and allowing five runs on seven hits and two walks.  He did strike out five.  Trevor May pitched a scoreless inning, giving up a walk.  Gabriel Moya struck out two in two shutout innings, giving up one hit.  His ERA is 1.54.

BIRMINGHAM 3, CHATTANOOGA 1 IN CHATTANOOGA

Zack Collins hit a three-run homer in the first inning and that was all the Barons needed.  The lone Lookouts run came on a Jaylin Davis RBI single in the sixth.

Zander Weil was 2-for-4 and is batting .301.

Anthony Marzi struck out eleven in five innings, giving up three runs on seven hits and two walks.  Andrew Vasquez struck out three in two shutout innings, giving up only a walk.  His ERA remains zero in ten innings.  Ryne Harper struck out four in two shutout innings, giving up one hit.  His ERA is 2.90.

FORT MYERS 5, BRADENTON 4 IN BRADENTON

Tyler Wells retired the first sixteen men he faced.  Still, it was 4-4 until Lewin Diaz homered leading off the eighth.  The Marauders did not get a hit after that, but did load the bases in the bottom of the eighth on three consecutive hit batsmen.

Diaz was 3-for-4 with a home run (his sixth) and a double, driving in two.  Caleb Hamilton was 2-for-4.  Miguel Sano was 1-for-4 and is batting .326.  Alex Kirilloff was 1-for-5 and is batting .317.

Wells struck out eight in six innings, giving up two runs on three hits and no walks.  His ERA is 2.58.  Tom Hackimer pitched 1.2 scoreless innings, giving up two walks.  Alex Robinson pitched a scoreless inning, striking out one.

KANE COUNTY 1, CEDAR RAPIDS 0 IN KANE COUNTY

Jasrado Chisholm's sacrifice fly in the seventh brought home the game's only run.

Jacob Pearson was 2-for-3 with a walk.  Royce Lewis was 0-for-4 and is batting .320.  Jordan Gore was 0-for-3 and is batting .307.  Jared Akins is 0-for-4 and is batting .074.

Blayne Enlow pitched six shutout innings, giving up six hits and three walks and striking out three.

KINGSPORT AT ELIZABETHTON

Rained out.

GCL TWINS 4, GCL RED SOX 2 AT TWINS

Janigson Villalobos hit a two-run single in the fifth to give the Twins a 2-1 lead.  The Twins led the rest of the way.

Kidany Salva was 2-for-3 with a double and a walk.  Villalobos was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and is batting .379.  Yeltsin Encarnacion was 2-for-5 and is batting .373.  Tyler Webb was 1-for-4 and is batting .349.  Estamy Urena was 1-for-3 with a walk and is batting .306.

Landon Leach struck out two in two shutout innings, giving up no hits but three walks.  His ERA remains at zero through three innings.  Donny Breech struck out two in two shutout innings, giving up no hits and two walks.  His ERA remains at zero through nine innings.  Tanner Howell pitched 2.1 scoreless innings, giving up a hit and a walk.  His ERA is 1.00.

DSL CARDINALS BLUE 12, DSL TWINS 11 AT CARDINALS

The Cardinals led 8-0 after two innings, but a six-run fourth got the Twins back into the game.  It was tied 9-9 and 11-11, but Leudy Pena singled home the deciding run with one out in the bottom of the ninth.

Nomar Urdaneta was 2-for-3 with a walk and two runs.  He is batting .302.  Ruben Santana was 2-for-3 with two RBIs.  He is batting .373.  Victor Heredia was 2-for-4 with a home run (his third), a walk, and four RBIs.  He is batting .330.  Luis Milla was 2-for-5 and is batting .333.  Jim Caceras was 1-for-5 with a three-run homer, his second.  Jeferson Morales was 1-for-4 with a walk, scoring twice and driving in two.  He is batting .333.  Brahiap Carrillo was 1-for-5 and is batting .300.

Miguel Rodriguez pitched just one inning, allowing four runs on three hits and three walks and striking out one.  Bryant Perez struck out four in two perfect innings in his professional debut.
