MUD HENS 7, SAINTS 4 IN TOLEDO
Toledo led 7-1 before the Saints scored three in the ninth.
No Saint had more than one hit. Edouard Julien and Kyle Garlick each hit a solo homer.
Bailey Ober started and struck out four in three innings, but gave up three runs (two earned) on five hits and one walk. Jose De Leon pitched three shutout innings, but then gave up two in his fourth inning, so his line is 3.1 innings, two runs, three hits, a walk, and two strikeouts. The only Saint pitcher to go unscored upon was Austin Schulfer, who gave up two hits and struck out one in one inning.
The Kernels are one-hit wonders. Rain was the big winner.
Lots of walks and a walkoff grand slam for the Wind Surge. Travis Adams pitches very well. Two extra-innings wins as the Twins sweep.
The Saints blow a huge lead. A big surge by Wichita. Brooks Lee is off to a good start.
I'm not going to try to go back and review all the games I missed, nor am I going to go back and choose players of the week(s). I did think, however, that you might be interested in seeing where the teams are in the standings. We'll resume game results tomorrow.
ST. PAUL SAINTS
The Saints are 54-55, tied for fifth place with Indianapolis in the International League West, 11.5 games behind Nashville. They are 5-5 in their last ten games and lost their most recent game.
WICHITA WIND SURGE
The Wind Surge is 25-14, in first place in the Texas League North, five games ahead of Springfield. They are 9-1 in their last ten games and won their last four games.
CEDAR RAPIDS KERNELS
The Kernels are 20-22, in fourth place in the Midwest League West, two games behind third-place Wisconsin, five games behind South Bend.
FORT MYERS MIGHTY MUSSELS
The Mighty Mussels are 16-24, in fifth place in the Florida State League West, three games behind fourth-place Lakeland, ten games behind Bradenton.
And just for fun, I thought I'd put standings together as if all four teams were in the same league. It proves nothing, and I'm not pretending that it does. I just thought it would be kind of cool.
Cedar Rapids 63-45 .583 --
Wichita 60-47 .561 2.5
Fort Myers 57-47 .548 4
St. Paul 54-55 .495 9.5
A big day for Jermaine Palacios. Dereck Rodriguez pitches well.
A big game for Jermaine Palacios. Sawyer Gipson-Long pitches seven strong innings. Wichita has an Earl Weaver game.
David Banuelos has a big day. Calm hits the Wind Surge bats. Misael Urbina's good games are not enough for the Mighty Mussels.
