Indigenous – Blues From The Sky
I've been a fan of Indigenous and Mato Nanji since their debut CD in 1998. Hard to believe it's been that long. I finally got to see them about four or five years ago. After the show Mato was signing autographs at the merch table. There weren't any lines so I went up and bought a shirt and talked to him for a minute or two about the show and his music and who he listens to. He and the band never got as big as I'd hoped they would, but they did okay for a bunch of reservation kids from Yankton. This is the original band lineup, with Mato's bother Pte on bass, sister Wanbdi on drums, and cousin Horse on other drums.
2023 “All-Star” Game
No Ohtani (pitching), no Judge, no Trout, no Kershaw, not much in the way of Twins players (rightly so)...but if you're like me and several of those starters' names aren't the most familiar, well, I guess there's that...
Post your running commentary below to preserve for posterity.
(Bonus points: Former Twins on the roster tonight? Arraez, Rooker, ...)
At The Movies: All Things Go
I don't keep up with too many shows, but a month or so ago, three shows I was watching (Succession, Barry, and Ted Lasso) all ended within a couple days of each other. And that was shortly after I finished my first Mad Men go through. It's weird as I don't watch that many shows, let alone have numerous ones end at the same time. Made me a little sad.
If you liked the ending, or even if you didn't, what's a show that left you feeling a little empty once it was over?

July 11, 2023: Please Don’t Go
I'm setting up a new work computer, and I used Edge to download Chrome. Edge twice sent up desperate pleas extolling their enhanced security that I had to close before I could open the download link.

Marvin Hamlisch – Nobody Does It Better
If I recall correctly, Marvin Hamlisch was in town doing some sort of engagement with the Minnesota Orchestra when I met him at the TV station during the promo tour. He was alone with no handler so I got to sit and talk with him for five minutes or so in the break room before the show. Nice guy, very polite, said yes please when I offered to get him a beverage and thank you when I brought it to him. His talent is missed.

July 10, 2023: Smiley
I'm sure my dad had similar thoughts when he was my age, but it's weird to see young kids running around in Nirvana shirts.
