Friday Music Day — The Droning

Since I was given this slot by AMR I thought I would take the opportunity to drone on for 28 minutes about GBV….  O.k. maybe not, instead I’ll go all Gleeman on the bit and do some Friday links:

Here’s a well-written commentary from the Curator of the Walker about Low’s 28 minute drone at RTG.  Of course he loved it (as did I).

Want to know what the fuss was all about?  Here’s the stream:

Har Mar Superstar the Guitar Player for the Replacements?  It was fun while it lasted.

One of my least favorite bands are headlining an outdoor show Saturday in Downtown Mpls.

I guess a feminist Taylor Swift twitter account is a thing.

That's all I got.  Use the space below and drop some rad lists.

Game 69 (lol Brian would love that) Recap: From the Livejournal of Cole DeVries

June 20, 2013

Mood: 😀 Happy

Music: Macklemore & Ryan Lewis featuring Ray Dalton - Can't Hold Us

I just got off the phone with Brian. He called from the clubhouse to tell me he had another big game and is still “Jacking bombs all over” and is really on a roll now. It was great to hear him excited about baseball again and hear the guys getting rowdy in the background after a big W. Sometimes Brian acts like baseball is just a thing you do to help you get girls lol. I know deep down he’s got a the same Passion I do for the Game but he just needs to show it more often.

Game 69: Twins vs. WhiteSox

DAY GAME ALERT!!!!

Going for the SWEEEEEEEEEEEEP!

Scott Diamond vs. John Danks

I would say that one of the best parts about Baseball is the draft. Specifically the fact that it's not held until the middle of next year and the players won't make an impact for years down the line. When watching a bad Timberwolves or Vikings team it's easy to root for a loss to get better draft position. With a bad Twins team I can still always hope for a win. Especially against the White Sox.

SWEEEEEEEEEEP!!!

Where They Stand

Rochester is 36-38, fourth in the International League North, 8.5 games behind Pawtucket.  The Red Wings lost their most recent game and are 6-4 in their last ten games.

New Britain is 33-37, fourth in the Eastern League Eastern, ten games behind Binghamton.  The Rock Cats lost their most recent game and are 4-6 in their last ten games.

Fort Myers won the first half championship with a record of 45-22, eight games head of St. Lucie.  The second half begins tonight.

Cedar Rapids finished second in the first half with a record of 40-28, two games behind Beloit.  This is good enough for a playoff spot.  The second half begins tonight.

The DSL Twins are 9-6, first in the Boca Chica Baseball City Division, a half game ahead of the White Sox.  The Twins lost their most recent game and are 7-3 in their last ten games.

Father Knows Best: Father’s Day

It turns out I have the good fortune to write our Father Knows Best post the week after Father's Day.  I wish I could say this was well-planned on my part, but, like most of my parenting, I just sort of stumbled into it.  I wasn't entirely sure what to write about, but then my "kids" (Philosofette) wrote a whole bunch of post-it notes about the things I do for them and posted them all around our apartment.  It made me feel pretty awesome.  I'm going to use a couple of those notes to hit on some of the high points of my parenting.  Since, you know... they're few and far between.
