December 8, 2013: Almost There

Three days until I hit Minnesota. I'm thinking the 11th for CdL/WGOM people, and maybe the 14th as well if others can't make the 11th. On the 12th I think I'll see my friend Cheryl ("I wish I had a beard" from that commercial a year ago or so) and some other actor-types. I hope to see a lot of you dudes. I also hope I don't stay sick throughout it - I woke up with something yesterday.

Ken Roy was a minor league umpire for two years before becoming a Catholic priest.  He said that his umpiring career helped him in ministry because it gave him more patience with people and made him a better listener.

Masahiro Doi was a fifteen-time all-star in the Japanese Pacific League, playing from 1962-1981.

We would also like to wish a happy eighth birthday to AMR’s son, HPR.

Heat at Wolves. 7pm

The last time our fearless five played a game, the cost of a gallon of gasoline was $1.30 , a jug of milk was $1 and a dozen eggs were a quarter.

Ok, that is an exaggeration, but after a malfunction in Mexico City that lead to the game being cancelled the Wolves have not played a game in 6 days.

The Miami Heat come to town and while most everyone wants to see Lebron James, I am more interested in seeing Michael Beasley. That goofball has a place in my basketball heart. The Beeze is having a good season coming off the bench with a career high .157 Win Shares/48.

Go Wolves.
