Luke Bard has a successful AAA debut. Felix Jorge has his third good game in a row. The Miracle get blanked. A big home run by Trey Cabbage. A big day for Rainis Silva. No offense for the GCL Twins.

Game 111 — Brewers at Twins
It’s the second game of 2-game series against the Brew Crew. Then they all pack it up and head to Milwaukee and do the same thing for two more games. No word if they share a plane back to MKE. I’ve gone on the record against these two-and-two series against your other league rival. Back in the day, the weekend series against your rival was a blast. Mainly because it was on the weekend. It created excitement and memories, made fans out people not necessarily fans. Who knows, maybe they’d come back for another game sometime.
Now tonight is supposed to be gorgeous weather-wise and the crowd should be decent, but it’s really a lost opportunity. But then again, it’s MLB. What are you going to do? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Mejia against Matt Garza. Should be a fun game. I’ll be there in those trendy Catch seats, eating free Tapas and drinking free Summit bear with the boy. I may have to cancel Wednesday morning meetings.
Angel Olsen – Give It Up
I think we played Angel recently, but this was in drafts and I needed a video, sooooo....
08 August 2017: Goin Fishin’
This weekend I learned Derek Falvey & Thad Levine fired Jack Goin, the director of baseball research they inherited from Terry Ryan. The two of them will run the department until a new director is hired. I might've missed it being mentioned, but thought it was noteworthy enough to include here.
My first thought on reading the news surprised me a bit: would they hire Craig Breslow?
Minor Details: Games of August 7
Tim Melville is quietly pitching very well for Rochester. Levi Michael stays hot for Chattanooga as Fernando Romero has a rare bad game. Brent Rooker hit his second home run in three games, but it wasn't enough. Ben Rortvedt has a good day. The GCL Twins get only one hit. Errors prevail in the DSL.

07 August 2017: 263 Years
On Saturday I drove out to attend a firemen's dance at Pops Hayes' former department. The department was honoring its retired firefighters, Pops among them. One of my uncles (Pops' brother-in-law) was also in the retired group; he was on the department for 36 years. Toward the end, the emcee gave the total service time for the firefighters honored – 263 years. It was pretty neat to celebrate that level of commitment to a community.
