I was thinking I played these guys months ago, but I guess not.

Game 128. Happy Bartolo Day!
I said it last night, that was a disappointing series. Should have won minimum of 3 games and it didn't happen. But, the Twins are in the 2nd Wild Card slot as they head to Toronto. Its crazy that its August 25th and this is the first time these two teams have played! Lets look to see who's on the roster...Jose Bautista, Josh Donaldson, Kendrys Morales... OH BOY! Twins killers! This should be fun!
Bartolo Colon for the good guys, JA Happ for the Jays
FMD 8-25-17: Teaching Kids About Music
Over the last few weeks I've had the chance to expose my kids to a good amount of music that they hadn't ever (or at least regularly) heard before. For our trip I burned some CDs (because no ipod/smart phone... a topic for a different forum). One an Oldies Mix and one a Weird Al mix (because fun!). The WGOM was instructive a ways back on the Oldies Mix, so thanks all for that.
I've also had my kids plinking away on the piano a little bit lately. I don't actually know how to play myself, but I know enough about chords and the like that I can point them in a direction here or there. I'm hoping to get Aquinas into piano lessons before too long, but there aren't too many people teaching out our way these days.
Anyway, it's been fun to watch the kids learning about music, making requests about new things, experimenting on the piano, etc. I'm often surprised by what clicks with them, and what they're interested in exploring further.
I'd love to hear more parents' "teaching their kids music" stuff. What should I be throwing their way? What about some of our more seasoned parents... did your kids take after your music tastes? Butt heads? Etc. So there's our topic for the day: teaching kids about music.
Jamila Woods – LSD
I like this track. A lot. Whole album is decent if you haven't checked it out yet.
25 August 2017: Three of Five
Does a playoff-bound team drop three out of five to a club with a sub-.400 winning percentage in late August?

Rehabbing Yankees sink the Red Wings. Fernando Romero seems to be wearing down. Brent Rooker keeps hitting as Clark Beeker struggles to make the jump to high-A. Jimmy Kerrigan has the big hit for Cedar Rapids. The E-Twins give up a couple of big innings. Alberoni Nunez keeps hitting.

August 24, 2017: Maybe It Really Is The End
The boy started school, it's getting a little cooler, the Twins play their last game in Chicago tonight... If I didn't know any better, I'd swear summer was almost over.
Minor Details: Games of August 23
Zack Granite makes a successful comeback and Felix Jorge makes a successful AAA debut. Anthony McIver makes a successful AA debut. Gabriel Moya has nothing to learn in Chattanooga. A fine game by Tyler Watson. Randy Dobnak had a fine game as well as Akil Baddoo keeps hitting. Benjamin Rodriguez and Jean Carlos Arias hit three-run homers. The DSL Twins clinch the division.
